“If we don’t fight back, they’ll come for us eventually.” Warner Bros has revealed an official trailer for a modern horror remake of ‘Salem’s Lot, from the Stephen King story of the same name. The novel was first published in 1975, and it was made into a movie in 1979, starring David Soul as Ben Mears. This new remake or re-adaptation will be skipping theaters and going direct-to-streaming, playing on Max starting in October in time for horror season. Author Ben Mears returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire. The title is a shortening of Jerusalem’s Lot to just ‘Salem’s Lot, hence the two apostrophes. This new update stars Lewis Pullman as Ben Mears, with Makenzie Leigh, Bill Camp, Pilou Asbæk, Alfre Woodard, and William Sadler. This looks a bit like the recent It films mashed up with the classic Salem’s Lot story, though I’m not sure if it’ll be any good. Why are they sending this film directly to Max?
