The president of Nihon Falcom, Toshihiro Kondo recently revealed in an interview with GNN on Trails in the Sky media event that he had no idea that Nintendo Direct would reveal the remake. Moreover, the voice actor for Joshua Bright in the game was also unaware of the remake and he was as surprised as the president of the developing company.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st is expected to be released in 2025.
