This guide will walk you through the eighth chapter of The Casting of Frank Stone.

Chapter 8: Mystery Manor – Walkthrough

You will switch between Linda and Madison throughout chapter 8. Initially, you will play as Linda and you have to select dialogue choices during the initial conversation. Select the following dialogue choices.

Nostalgic – It’s been a long time.

Concerned – You’re not making a lot of sense.

Hesitant – We haven’t committed to anything yet.

Look for Stan

After the conversation, you will switch to Madison. Go down the hallway to find a television. Interact with the television and turn it off. Now, turn around and go to the left side to open a door ahead. Continue ahead in the hallway and turn left to come across a staircase going down to a mysterious door. Interact with the door to open it and initiate a cutscene revealing a large room with a mysterious machine.

Shut down the machine

Go over to the console ahead and interact with it. There will be a large disc on the console with three movable sections. The outer section of the disc cannot be moved and you need to align the lighted nodes on the section by moving them. It is best to start from the third section to start aligning the nodes and make your way to the middle one.

Deactivate the rings

Once done, a lever will appear on the right side. Go to the lever and interact with it to close one of the rings of the machine. Now, you have to do the same thing twice to shut down all the rings of the machine. Go back to the console to align the nodes to appear another lever, and so on.

After deactivating all the rings of the machine, a final lever will unlock in the center of the machine. Go over to the lever and interact with it. Mash the button before the time runs out to pass the QTE and vent out the energy in the room. A cutscene will start in which Chris (from 1980) will come out of the portal.

Find the others

As the cutscene ends, you will switch back to Linda. While speaking with Sam Green, select the Somber: She promised me freedom, dialogue option. Once you have the control, go ahead in the corridor and turn left to continue ahead. It will start a brief cutscene in which Sam Green will have a panic attack and drop to the floor.

Here, you will get a choice to pick up the pouch or the diary. We selected the diary and retrieved a letter from it. Moreover, you have to pass the QTE to successfully take the diary and pick up the dropped letter from the floor. Failing the QTE will make Sam wake up. After that, select the Supportive: Help Sam find Augustine, dialogue option.

Search the archive

Once you have the control, go into the door ahead to reach the archive. Search the aisles to find the Murder Mill T-shirt, Fake Prop Arm, and a Flawed Lamp. Moreover, if you go to the other side of the shelf where you found the t-shirt, you will find The Nurse (Rellik – Collectible).

After exploring, go over to the table ahead and examine it to see an alternative movie scene. If you have picked up the letter from Sam while he was passed out, it will reveal that Sheriff Sam Green is not from this reality but another.

Sam will interrupt you and get the letter back, and you can ask him about Logan Chen which will conclude the chapter.
