Fun Trailer for ‘Superboys of Malegaon’ Filmmaking Comedy from India

“We all need comedy and some laughter in life.” Amazon MGM Studios has revealed an official trailer for a comedy from India called Superboys of Malegaon, which will be premiering at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival underway now. The meta comedy is about a wannabe, penniless filmmaker trying to make a film in his small town with his friends. Based on a true story, Superboys of Malegaon chronicles the life and work of self-made auteur Nasir Shaikh, whose no-budget, community-sourced productions turned his pals into cineastes and his hometown into an unlikely dream factory. The film is “an inspiring ode to tenacity, self-actualization, and the sheer fun of filmmaking.” Superboys stars Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Shashank Arora as the main three friends. It’s playing at TIFF now then at the London Film Festival, with a January 2025 release set for India. “Brimming with comedy, adventure, and colourful characters, the film is a testament to the wonders that can be achieved when imagination is matched with resourcefulness, loyalty, and lots of love.” Looks cheesy but also inspiring!
