“I’m doing this film to prove I can act.” Republic Pictures via Paramount has unveiled an official trailer for an action comedy called Cassino in Ischia, arriving to watch in October on VOD directly. Which is a sign this ain’t going to be good. This meta action star concept sounds like a spin-off from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The next generation of action heroes push Nic Cassino off his perch. So he goes to Italy to work with struggling Italian directors on the first-ever “Neo-Realist” action movie trying to revitalize his career. But as they stumble through cultural clashes and a chaotic production, Nic’s comeback attempt spirals into a wacky journey of mishaps, reinvention, & unexpected discoveries. Dominic Purcell stars as Nic Cassino, and the cast includes Ugo Dighero, Miriam Candurro, Marcello Romolo, Carlotta Natoli, Fabio Avaro, Lucianna DeFalco, Simone Mazzella, and Alessia Santalucia.
