Ruby is one of the precious gems in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria used for crafting all Tier III weapons and enchanting weapons to do fire damage. Inscribing various Runes is one of the essential features of Return to Moria that provides you with various bonuses for your weapons, and using Ruby is the first one.
This guide will help you find Ruby in Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria.
Where to Find Ruby in Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria
There are two main methods through which you can get Ruby in Return to Moria, one is by looting the Orkish Chests found at the Orc Outposts in The Lower Deeps area, and the other method is to mine the Precious Gems ore vein found in the Darkest Deeps area.
Loot the Orkish Chests for Rubies
The first method is the initial way you can come across Rubies as you don’t have to go into the depths of the Lower Deeps area to find the gem ore veins. You just have to find an Orc Outpost located in the Lower Deeps area and eliminate all the enemies in it. Once done, break the totems inside the Outposts, to get an Orc Key. Now, use the Orc Key to open the Orkish Chest and you should find one or two Rubies in it.
Mine the Precious Gems Ore Veins for Rubies
For the second method, you need to progress through the rooms of the Lower Deeps area to eventually reach a room with a gap in its floor. The gap is not that big but it goes deep into the Darkest Deeps area. You can go down by building the wooden platforms or by building a ladder long enough to the ground below.
Once you are in the Darkest Deeps area, bring out the torch to find the Precious Gems ore veins and mine them to get Rubies along with other precious gems like Sapphires, Amethysts, etc.
However, it isn’t as easy as it sounds as there is no source of light in the Darkest Deeps area and it is best to keep a full stack of food with you to heal whenever the despair kicks in.
