Star Wars Outlaws has various mini-games tied to the bypassing doors and computers, like a rhythmic challenge for unlocking doors using the Data Spike and a Slicing technique for hacking the computer terminals. During your explorations, you will come across various computers that you can access using the Slicer but it requires you to bypass a security using the Slicing technique.

The Slicing technique is as close as the Wordle game in recent times and if you have any idea on how to guess the correct word in the Wordle game, then it will not be difficult for you to slice and access the computers. This guide will help you slice open the computers in Star Wars Outlaws.

How the Slicing Technique Works in Star Wars Outlaws

As you find an encrypted computer terminal, you can use the Slicer to initiate the Slicing technique to bypass its security. The Slicing technique requires you to find a set number of correct glyphs in a certain order. The screen will show you 3-5 blocks in a row depending on the difficulty of the encryption, and you will see several glyphs on the left side which you have to put in various combinations to find the correct one.

All the wrong glyphs in the row will turn red, meaning that they don’t belong in the combination at all and you don’t need to use them again. If there is a correct glyph in the row but it is at the wrong position, it will turn yellow, meaning you can change its location the next time to find its correct position. The correct glyph in the correct position will turn blue and it will be placed automatically in the same position for every next turn.

Upon filling a block with all the correct (blue) glyphs, the slicing will be completed and you will access the computer.

Easy Tips to Succeed in Slicing Every Time

Here, are a few simple steps you can follow to unlock any computer with the slicing technique.

Select a random combination of glyphs to fill the first row and see if there are any Yellow Colored Glyphs.

Choose the other set of glyphs along with the yellow-colored glyph in another spot than last time to see if it is in the correct position or not. If a blue glyph appears, it means it is in the correct spot.

Now, repeat the process of using other glyphs and altering the position of yellow-colored glyphs to complete the combination.

Moreover, if you are finding the Slicing mini-game overwhelming and don’t want to do it every time you find a hackable computer, you can turn it off from the Gameplay Settings of the game. Doing so will let you bypass the computer without performing the slicing technique.
