“You do not have the luxury to be good, you have the burden to be better.” Netflix has revealed a first look teaser for a film titled The Six Triple Eight, a brand new Tyler Perry production. Thankfully this one is not called “Tyler Perry’s Six Triple Eight” because its not another romantic thriller. The Six Triple Eight is inspired by the first & only Women’s Army Corps unit of color to serve overseas during World War II. 855 women joined up to fix the 3-year backlog of undelivered mail. Faced with discrimination and devastation of war, they managed to sort more than 17 million pieces of mail ahead of time. Written and directed by Tyler Perry, the film stars Kerry Washington as Major Charity Adams, the commanding officer of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. With an ensemble cast including Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, Sarah Jeffery, Pepi Sonuga, Moriah Brown, Jeanté Godlock, with Susan Sarandon, Dean Norris, and Sam Waterston, and Oprah Winfrey.
