How to Complete The Optics of a Second Chance Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Starting the Quest
The Optics of a Second Chance quest becomes available once players have reached Friendship Level 2 with Jafar. After that, speak to Jafar to initiate the quest.
Find Jafar’s tools
After starting the quest, go to the Cave of Wonders to find the following Jafar’s tools.
1x Polished Mirror
2x Photonic Lever
NOTE: You will find all of these tools on the ground throughout the cave.
Once you have found all the tools in the cave, go to EVE’s house to find three Power Cables in a pile of trash. Interact with the pile of trash to dispel it and pick up the Power Cables.
Upon finding all the tools, speak to Jafar to give him the tools.
Find Gems on Eternity Isle
After giving Jafar his tools, gather the following gems on Eternity Isle.
1x Jade – Found by mining the rock nodes in the Courtyard and Overlook areas of the Ancient’s Landing biome.
1x Spinel – Found by mining the rock nodes in the Grove and Promenade areas of the Wild Tangle biome.
1x Bumblestone – Found by mining the rock nodes in the Borderlands area of the Glittering Dunes biome.
1x Alexandrite – Found by mining the rock nodes in the Wastes and Oasis areas of the Glittering Dunes biome.
1x Evergem – Found by mining the rock nodes in the Ruins area of the Ancient’s Landing biome.
Craft the Dimensional Prism
Go to the crafting station and craft the Dimensional Prism using all the gems you mined.
NOTE: You can find the Dimensional Prism recipe under the Functional Items tab of the Crafting Station.
Meet Jafar at his Laboratory in the Palace
After crafting the Dimensional Prism, go to Jafar’s Palace and head to the Laboratory to meet him.
Install everything for the experiment
Here, interact with the cut-off wires beside the Power Coil to attach three Power Cables. The power cables will reach the Experiment Chamber door allowing you to open it for the next step. Open the chamber door and place the Geometrically Impaired (2D) Objects in the Experiment Slots. Once done, close the chamber door and then interact with the lever behind the mirror.
Gather the repaired items
After installing everything correctly for the experiment, open the chamber door to retrieve the repaired items. Now, speak with Jafar to show him the repaired items.
Decorate with the stabilized objects
Leave Jafar’s Palace and go into the Build Mode to place the items in the following order.
Geometrically Stabilized Cactus – Anywhere in Glittering Dunes.
Geometrically Stabilized Statue – Anywhere in Ancient’s Landing.
Geometrically Stabilized Tree – Anywhere in Wild Tangle.
Check back with Jafar
Once you have placed all the stabilized objects in the correct biomes, go back to Jafar and speak with him. Go through the dialogues to conclude the quest.
Rewards
Completing the Optics of a Second Chance quest will give the following rewards.
