Black Myth: Wukong offers a variety of staff weapons that players can craft at any Keeper’s Shrine using the required materials and Will (currency). The game gradually opens up these staff by progressing into the main story, but there are hidden and better staff that players can unlock early in the game.

One such staff is a Loongwreathe Staff (Epic rarity) that players can unlock by the end of Chapter 2. This guide will walk you through how to unlock the Loongwreathe Staff in Black Myth: Wukong.

How to Unlock Loongwreathe Staff (Secret Weapon) in Black Myth: Wukong

The Loongwreathe Staff is an Epic rarity staff that can be crafted at any Keeper’s Shrine but before you do that, you must first unlock it in the ‘Craft Weapon’ line. To unlock the Loongwreathe Staff, you have to defeat one of the two secret bosses hidden behind the waterfalls. You will come across two waterfalls early in the game, one in Chapter 1 and the other in Chapter 2.

Get Past the Waterfalls to Encounter the Secret Bosses

The waterfall in Chapter 1 is located on the far-left side of the stream near the Outside the Forest (Keeper’s Shrine) – Forest of Wolves area. The waterfall in Chapter 2 is located up the staircase near the Rockrest Flat (Keeper’s Shrine) – Fright Cliff area. Now, if you approach any waterfall, you won’t be able to get past it due to a missing Key Item called Loong Scales.

Loong Scales is found inside a chest in the hidden chamber behind a wall in the cave next to the Valley of Despair (Keeper’s Shrine) – Sandgate Village area. As you go into the open area in the cave where you fight the First Prince of Flowing Sands, you will see a wall with a red pattern on it. You need to damage the wall to open the crack. There are a couple of ways to do it, but the easiest way is to simply use the Wandering Wight’s Spirit Skill.

You can read our detailed guide on getting past the waterfalls in Black Myth: Wukong for more information.

Now, head inside to find the Loong Scales, and then go to any waterfall to get the ‘Examine’ prompt on the screen. Press the respective key to dispel the waterfall and head into the secret area to encounter the boss.

Red Loong (Secret Boss) Encounter in Chapter One

If you go past the waterfall in Chapter One, you will encounter Red Loong, a dragon boss with Electric elemental attacks. Defeat Red Loong to get a Loong Pearl material which unlocks the Loongwreathe Staff in the Crafting Weapon option at the shrine. Moreover, go over to the chest that appeared in the arena to pick up the Thunder Tail, the first material required for crafting the staff.

Black Loong (Secret Boss) Encounter in Chapter Two

Now, go to the second waterfall in Chapter Two and dispel it by using the Loong Scales. Head inside the hidden area and encounter Black Loong, a creature with two big maces and Electric elemental attacks. Defeat Black Loong to get another Loong Pearl material and 2x Refined Iron Sand Same as before, go over to the chest that appeared in the arena to pick up Thunderbone, the second material required for crafting the staff.

Crafting Loongwreathe Staff in Black Myth: Wukong

After defeating the secret bosses and obtaining the materials, the only thing that is left is a couple of more Refined Iron Sand, as you need four of them to craft the staff. You can find the Refined Iron Sand by looting the chests and defeating other bosses in Chapter 2 of the game.

Once done, go to any Keeper’s Shrine and navigate to the Craft Weapon option to find the Loongwreathe Staff. Select it and hold the respective option to craft the staff using the following materials.

1x Thunder Tail

1x Thunderbone

4x Refined Iron Sand

21,000 Will

Make sure that you have enough Will to craft the staff. You can get a ton of Will by defeating bosses and enemies, absorbing Green Mists, and selling Tiny Pieces of Gold.

The Loongwreathe Staff moderately increases the damage dealt by all Pillar Stance moves, so it is best for the players who use the Pillar Stance more. Moreover, it is the best weapon that you can get before initiating Chapter 3 of the game.
