Black Myth: Wukong offers an exciting journey through the fantasy world with its course of six chapters. Each chapter takes place in a new region of the world bringing new challenges and secrets. As each chapter is pretty long and consists of multiple areas, there are various secrets that you can uncover.
During your exploration through Chapter 1 & Chapter 2, you might have come across the waterfalls and thought why couldn’t you go past them? Well, it is because it requires the usage of a unique key item to dispel the waterfalls and reveal the area behind them. This guide will walk you through how you can get past the waterfalls in Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 of Black Myth Wukong.
How to Get Past the Waterfalls in Chapter 1 & Chapter 2 of Black Myth: Wukong
Getting past the waterfall located at Outside the Forest – Forest of Wolves in Chapter 1, and the other waterfall at Rockrest Flat – Fright Cliff area in Chapter 2 requires the usage of Loong Scales. It is a Key Item that players can find in a chest located behind a secret wall entrance in Chapter 2.
Where to Find the Loong Scales (Key Item) in Black Myth: Wukong
To get the Loong Scales, make your way to the Valley of Despair in the Sandgate Village area. It is the location where you fight the King of Flowing Sands and the Second Prince of Flowing Sands. Now, there are two ways in which you can defeat this boss, you can either defeat the prince (big guy) to end the fight with a cutscene or you can defeat both of them starting with the king (little guy).
NOTE: Defeating both of the enemies in this boss fight will give you a Pungent Flesh Chunk (Key Item).
After the fight, follow the path on the left side into the cave. If you have only defeated the prince, it will start a cutscene where the king will summon his other son. However, If you have defeated both of them, jump down to the open area below in the cave and stand next to the cliff to use the Pungent Flesh Chunk item and summon the First Prince of Flowing Sands.
Before you go all aggressive on the boss and defeat him, you can lure him to do a charged attack from a distance into the wall on the left side of the arena. The wall has a red pattern on it, you can’t miss it. If you manage to lure him into the wall with the charged attack, the wall will break and reveal a crack from which you can squeeze through.
Moreover, if you didn’t manage to trick him into the wall, worry not, as you can also use the Wandering Wight’s Spirit Skill to headbutt the wall and break it.
Interact with the crack in the wall to squeeze through it and you will find a chest in the room. Loot the chest to get the Loong Scales.
Now, when you go to Waterfalls either in Chapter 1 or Chapter 2, you should get an interaction prompt on the screen. Pres the respective key to dispel the waterfall allowing you to proceed ahead.
What is Behind the Waterfalls in Black Myth: Wukong
Both the waterfalls, one in Chapter 1 and the other one in Chapter 2 include a Secret Boss encounter. Going past the waterfall at the Forest of Wolves will let you face Red Loong, and going past the one at the Fright Cliff will let you face Black Loong. Both of these bosses afflict Electric damage with various AOE attacks.
Moreover, defeating these bosses, will reveal a chest in the arena which you can loot to get Epic Materials used for crafting an Epic Staff Weapon called Loongwreathe Staff. The Loongwreathe Staff moderately increases the damage dealt by all Pillar Stance moves, so it is best for the players who use the Pillar Stance more.
