DREDGE: The Iron Rig – How to Complete the Getting Power, Main Pursuit

Getting Power is the first main pursuit of DREDGE: The Iron Rig expansion which initiates upon reaching the Iron Rig structure and speaking with Foreman. This guide will walk you through the Getting Power pursuit in DREDGE: The Iron Rig.

Main Pursuit – Getting Power Complete Walkthrough

Gather Ironhaven Crates

The Foreman will ask your help to bring two Ironhaven Crates to the Rig and let the workers wire up the Generator to begin the work. Moreover, the Foreman will also mark the locations of the company’s missing ships from where you can dredge the Ironhaven Crates.

After speaking with the Foreman, open the map to see the marked locations of the missing ships. There are five in total scattered throughout the map and the closest one is at I-14 coordinates. Set sail towards the closest missing ship location to find a sunken ship in the water. There will be two spots for dredging around the sunken ship, one spot will offer two Ironhaven Crates and the other one will offer only one.

Despite the need for only two to progress the pursuit, dredge out all three Ironhaven Crates and then return to the rig. Dock at the rig and select the Cargo Elevator to transfer two Ironhaven Crates. The Foreman will send the materials to the main platform where the workers will make the generator and give you a Hull Repair Kit.

Visit the Scientist

The Foreman will tell you to visit the Scientist. Select the Science Lab to meet with the Scientist who is obsessed with fish. However, before he can learn more from you about your endeavors in these waters, he will require a shipment (Ironhaven Crate) to complete building the Science Lab. Transfer the third Ironhaven Crate from your inventory to further update the pursuit and he will give you a Soothing Tea as a reward.

Gather Fish to Fuel the Generator

Go back to the Generator to see Foreman and he will tell you that it is a Biofuel Generator and needs some sort of Biomass to power it. You need to gather fish (any) and fill a 5 by 4 tile grid to power the Generator. Get back to your ship and start looking for the fishing spots around the rig to catch the fish.

Catch as many fish as you can and then return to the rig to fill the tile grid at the Generator to refuel it. The Getting Power pursuit will be resolved and you will get Aberrated Bait as a reward. Moreover, a cutscene will play at the end of the conversation in which the rig’s drill will turn on and contaminate the water with oil up to the Narrows.
