Fields of Mistria is a farming/life-sim videogame in which you rebuild Mistria Town throughout the story by participating in various activities and helping townsfolks. Moreover, you can socialize with the townsfolks and increase your friendship level with them which will allow you to romance dateable characters.
This guide will help you with how to romance characters in Fields of Mistria.
How to Romance Characters in Fields of Mistria
Similar to other life-sim video games, romancing characters in Fields of Mistria is done by increasing the Romance/Friendship Level with the dateable characters. Not all characters can be romanced in Fields of Mistria but only the ones who have a ‘Purple Heart’ icon on their dialog boxes. Moreover, you can also see the romanceable characters in the Villagers Menu.
To initiate any romance sequence with certain characters, you must first increase your Romance/Friendship Level with them. Below, you will find all the methods to increase friendship level.
1. Speak to the Characters Daily
Speaking to the characters at least once per day (in-game) is a basic method to raise your friendship level with them. Every character has their own routine throughout the day but fortunately, you can track the characters by seeing them on the map. Upon approaching a character, press the E button (default) to speak with them.
Moreover, as you speak with the characters often, they will reveal the items that they love and like in the dialog box. The lovable and likable items mentioned in the dialog box are highlighted so make sure to take notes of them.
2. Give Gifts Daily
Another great method for increasing your friendship level with the characters is to give them gifts of items that they like and love. Every character has a different set of lovable and likable items so make sure to gift the items accordingly. To give a gift to a character, equip the item from your Hotbar and press the G button (default) while standing near the character.
Moreover, gifting a lovable/likable item on the Character’s Birthday earns you more friendship points with them. However, if you gift an item that is disliked by a character, it will decrease your friendship with them.
3. Complete Requests
Lastly, you can complete requests for the characters available on the Request Board in the Town. Accept the requests from the board and complete them to earn various rewards along with friendship points.
Romance Events for Characters in Fields of Mistria
There are currently two romance events for every romanceable character in Fields of Mistria. These events are triggered after reaching two Hearts and four Hearts with the romanceable characters.
NOTE: Due to the Early Access stage of Fields of Mistria, players can only earn 4 Hearts/Friendship Levels with the romanceable characters.
The romance event is featured with a unique cutscene for every character which triggers during Heart Quests (exclusive requests for characters). Each cutscene with a certain character reveals more about the character’s backstory and personality.
All Romanceable Characters and Their Birthday Dates in Fields of Mistria
Currently, there are 10 romanceable characters in Fields of Mistria with whom players can increase their Heart Level to trigger romance events. Below, you will find the list of all 10 romanceable characters along with their Birthday Dates.
Adeline – Birthday: Winter 18
Balor – Birthday: Summer 10
Celine – Birthday: Summer 14
Eiland – Birthday: Summer 20
Hayden – Birthday: Winter 8
Juniper – Birthday: Fall 26
March – Birthday: Spring 16
Reina – Birthday: Fall 12
Rylis – Birthday: Spring 4
Valen – Birthday: Fall 1
Moreover, upon beginning a new day, the game will mention the Birthday Character’s name on the screen, if any. Speaking and gifting an item to the character on their Birthday will let you earn some bonus friendship points so don’t let it slip away.
NOTE: As the romance status cannot be exceeded by 4 Hearts, it is impossible to pursue marriage with any romanceable character. However, future updates will implement more romance levels in the game.
