The upcoming update of Fallout 76 Milepost Zero is said to be the biggest update for Fallout 76 and offers new features that will change players’ playstyle. Currently, Milepost Zero is available as preview-based content in PTS, and Jon Rush, the creative director of Fallout 76 gave an overview of the gameplay loop in a recent interview with PCGamesN.

Jon revealed that players will build and run outposts like C.A.M.P once they reach Level 20 by following the new caravan questline. Players will be able to upgrade and decorate the outposts to their liking as they progress through the story. Moreover, they will be able to place vendors that will sell various weapons, armor sets, and items.

Furthermore, Jon revealed that players will be able to run caravan routes across the Wasteland where players can secure their run and jump into other players’ runs to help them secure theirs. According to Jon, this feature is to break the default playstyle of the players which “is going from event to event to event.”

In addition, Jon stated: “The caravanning keeps the action from going event, wait, event, wait, event – it just keeps it more snappy, and the beauty of it is that you can hop in on somebody else’s that’s already running and you can still get rewards if it’s successful, or you can go make your own and try to get folks to join you. It’s really cool, I like the dynamic and what it does for our players as they’re going through their daily schedule.”

Alongside the Caravan feature, the Milepost Zero update will also bring a legendary crafting system, changes to legendary weapons, C.A.M.P. showcase mechanics, and World Events.
