The Xbox 360 Store and the Xbox 360 Marketplace web platform have permanently closed today July 24, 2024, as previously announced by Microsoft. The Xbox marketplace had been live for almost 19 years, started in November 2005, and offered millions of players its services. It is certainly a sad day for a lot of veteran gamers who still have the OG Xbox 360 console to this day.
After the closing of the store and the marketplace, players on X/Twitter started sharing photos of unavailable services of Xbox 360. The store icon has disappeared from the console menu. The Xbox 360 reference has also disappeared from the web version of the online store. Concluding all this, means that players can no longer buy digital games and DLC for Xbox 360.
However, despite the closure of store, Xbox 360 owners will retain full access to previously purchased games, and it will not affect any multiplayer games.
