“You’re a part of this world until that curtain closes.” Prime Video debuts this documentary film streaming on their service starting today – July 25th – if anyone wants to watch. Cirque du Soleil: Without a Net is a doc feature that follows the resurgence of Cirque du Soleil after the most difficult period in its history – shutting down during the pandemic in 2020 & 2021. This film originally premiered in late 2022 at the DOC NYC Film Festival, waiting for a final full release this year. When CdS attempts to fully reboot its flagship production, “O”, more than a year after an abrupt global shutdown, both performers & crew members face uncertainty as they work to return to their world-class standards in time for the (re)opening night curtain in Las Vegas. Some may also remember there was a special 3D movie called Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away, produced by none other than James Cameron, which originally opened in 2012 – so this isn’t even the first Cirque du Soleil movie either.
