The new update (patch 5.0) of No Man’s Sky called The Worlds Part 1 has been released across all the platforms enhancing the overall visuals with various new atmospheric systems. However, while many players are enjoying the new look of the game and experiencing storms on the planets, many players are experiencing technical issues like frame drops and texture disruption.

Enhanced Atmospheric Systems in No Man’s Sky

Clouds have been reworked completely, becoming more detailed and noticeable while flying out or into the planets. With the shadow system tweaked as well, the overall shadow textures in the game become more realistic as they change according to the position of the sun with the clouds.

Moreover, Water has been reworked as well, allowing it to react more realistically when a ship is flying over it. Additionally, the waves crashing on the shore and waterfall textures have also been improved which overall enhances the beauty of the game.

Technical Issues that Players are Experiencing in No Man’s Sky After the Update

Although the update adds Nvidia DLSS 3 to No Man’s Sky to generate more framerates for the players to experience the beauty smoothly, but for many players, DLSS 3 isn’t even working properly. Instead, of increasing the framerates of the game, it makes the game feel far less smooth and adds a bit of flickering to it. However, if you put DLSS on Balanced, it somehow works and does increase the FPS a bit.

Furthermore, players who are not using DLSS 3 or playing the game on Consoles experience a great amount of frame drops. Some players experience it while landing on the planets while others experience it after continuous play of around 4 to 5 hours. However, players did mention that when they restart the game the framerate goes back to normal but it goes down again after some time.

Additionally, some other players also mention the glitches and bugs regarding the HUD and UI, especially on consoles.

However, Hello Games (developers of No Man’s Sky) is currently following a Bug-Thread on Reddit where hundreds of players have shared their technical issues regarding the latest update. Moreover, there is currently no information on when Hello Games will release a hotfix to resolve players’ concerns.
