Gley is one of the unlockable descendants you will meet while following the campaign. Unlocking her will require you to gather various materials by completing multiple missions to research Gley. This guide will walk you through unlocking Gley in The First Descendant.

How to Unlock Gley in The First Descendant

Unlocking Gley requires 4 materials essential for initializing her research at Anais. Three out of four materials are obtained by researching them at Anais instead of getting them by completing missions like the early-game unlockable Descendants. Moreover, each material requires a respective Blueprint as a final resource to complete the research that is obtained by a certain Amorphous Material.

All the required materials for unlocking Gley are the following.

1x Gley Spiral Catalyst

1x Gley Enhanced Cells

1x Gley Stabilizer

1x Gley Code

Before you start finding the Amorphous Materials to get all the blueprints, go to Anais and navigate to Enhanced Materials to see all three required materials for unlocking Gley and the resources for researching each one.

You can find the methods to get each required Amorphous Material respective to the material below.

How to Get Gley Spiral Catalyst

All the Research Materials required for researching Gley Spiral Catalyst are the following.

Nanopolymers x363

Ceramic Composite x408

Synthesized Artificial Biometal x99

Gley Spiral Catalyst Blueprint x1

Out of all these materials, the blueprint is the hardest to get, as the rest of them can be obtained by opening the chests and blue boxes. Gley Spiral Catalyst Blueprint has a chance of dropping by opening the Amorphous Material Pattern: 028. Amorphous Material Pattern: 028 has a drop rate of 20% and is obtained by completing the Miragestone: Vulgus Strategic Outpost mission located in the Agna Desert region.

Once you have obtained the Amorphous Material, the next step is to complete the Void Fusion Reactor mission in the Miragestone area of the Agna Desert region. It requires 12x Monomer Void Shard and 3x Polymer Void Shard which are obtained by destroying the Void Fragments. Defeat the elite enemy spawn by activating the Void Fusion Reactor and then interact with the Reconstructed Device to open the Amorphous Material Pattern: 028 and hopefully get the Gley Spiral Catalyst Blueprint.

However, the drop rate of the Gley Spiral Catalyst Blueprint is only 38% so if you didn’t get the blueprint as a reward, you will have to repeat the whole process of getting the Amorphous Material and then opening it by defeating Swamp Walker.

Once you have got the Blueprint, you can go to Anais and initiate the Research of the Gley Spiral Catalyst for a cost of 200,000 Gold. It will take 8 hours (Real Time) to complete and then you can claim it.

How to Get Gley Enhanced Cells

All the Research Materials required for researching Gley Enhanced Cells are the following.

Monad Shard x246

Silicon x430

Cooling Metallic Foil x38

Gley Enhanced Cells Blueprint x1

Out of all these materials, the blueprint is the hardest to get, as the rest of them can be obtained by opening the chests and blue boxes. Gley Enhanced Cells Blueprint has a chance of dropping by opening the Amorphous Material Pattern: 012. Amorphous Material Pattern: 012 has a drop rate of 26% – 44% and is obtained by completing a Special Operations mission called Block Kuiper Mining located in the Sterile Land region.

Once you have obtained the Amorphous Material, the next step is to defeat the Stunning Beauty boss to open it. Go to Seneca and initiate the Stunning Beauty fight. Defeat the Stunning Beauty and interact with the Reconstructed Device to open the Amorphous Material Pattern: 012.

However, the drop rate of the Gley Enhanced Cells Blueprint is only 38% so if you didn’t get the blueprint as a reward, you will have to repeat the whole process of getting the Amorphous Material and then opening it by defeating Stunning Beauty.

Once you have got the Blueprint, you can go to Anais and initiate the Research of the Gley Enhanced Cells for a cost of 200,000 Gold. It will take 8 hours (Real Time) to complete and then you can claim it.

How to Get Gley Stabilizer

All the Research Materials required for researching Gley Stabilizer are the following.

Metal Accelerant x519

Flectorite x292

Complex Carbon Activator x60

Gley Stabilizer Blueprint x1

Out of all these materials, the blueprint is the hardest to get, as the rest of them can be obtained by opening the chests and blue boxes. Gley Stabilizer Blueprint has a chance of dropping by opening the Amorphous Material Pattern: 013. Amorphous Material Pattern: 013 has a drop rate of 20% and is obtained by completing the Lumber Yard: Vulgus Strategic Outpost mission located in the Vespers region.

Once you have obtained the Amorphous Material, the next step is to complete the Void Fusion Reactor mission in the Ruins area of the Vespers region. It requires 11x Polymer Void Shard and 4x Monomer Void Shard which are obtained by destroying the Void Fragments. Defeat the elite enemy spawn by activating the Void Fusion Reactor and then interact with the Reconstructed Device to open the Amorphous Material Pattern: 013 and hopefully get the Gley Enhanced Cells Blueprint.

However, the drop rate of the Gley Stabilizer Blueprint is only 38% so if you didn’t get the blueprint as a reward, you will have to repeat the whole process of getting the Amorphous Material and then opening it by completing the Void Fusion Reactor mission.

Once you have got the Blueprint, you can go to Anais and initiate the Research of the Gley Stabilizer for a cost of 200,000 Gold. It will take 8 hours (Real Time) to complete and then you can claim it.

How to Get Gley Code

The final Research Material for unlocking Gley is the Gley Code. To get the Gley Code, you will first have to get the Amorphous Material Pattern: 002. It can be obtained by completing the Magister Lab mission in the Fallen Theater area of the Kingston region. Moreover, it has a drop rate of 100% so you can easily farm it to get several material patterns.

Once you have obtained the Amorphous Material, you will have to defeat Grave Walker to open it and get the Gley Code. However, the Gley Code also has a 38% chance of dropping so If you don’t get the Gley Code, you will have to repeat the whole process of getting the Amorphous Material and then defeating Grave Walker to eventually get it.

Research Descendant: Gley

After obtaining all 4 required materials for unlocking Gley, head back to Albion and speak with Anais. Select the Descendant option and then select Gley. Researching Gley will cost you all 4 materials and 400,000 Gold.

Begin Researching for Gley and it will take 16 hours (Real Time) for the research to be complete. Fortunately, the timer goes on even if you are offline so you will most likely use Gley the next day. However, you can immediately complete the research by spending 240 Caliber (premium currency).
