Viessa is one of the unlockable descendants you will meet while following the campaign. Unlocking her will require you to gather various materials by completing multiple missions to research Viessa. This guide will walk you through unlocking Viessa in The First Descendant.
How to Unlock Viessa in The First Descendant
Unlocking Viessa requires 4 materials essential for initializing her research at Anais. Three out of four materials are obtained by researching them at Anais instead of getting them by completing missions like the early-game unlockable Descendants. Moreover, each material requires a respective Blueprint as a final resource to complete the research that is obtained by a certain Amorphous Material.
All the required materials for unlocking Viessa are the following.
Viessa Spiral Catalyst
Viessa Enhanced Cells
Viessa Stabilizer
Viessa Code
Before you start finding the Amorphous Materials to get all the blueprints, go to Anais and navigate to Enhanced Materials to see all three required materials for unlocking Viessa and the resources for researching each one.
You can find the methods to get each required Amorphous Material respective to the material below.
How to Get Viessa Spiral Catalyst
All the Research Materials required for researching Viessa Spiral Catalyst are the following.
571x Superfluid
386x Hardener
99x Synthesized Artificial Biometal
1x Viessa Spiral Catalyst Blueprint
Out of all these materials, the blueprint is the hardest to get, as the rest of them can be obtained by opening the chests and blue boxes. Viessa Spiral Catalyst Blueprint has a chance of dropping by opening one of the required Amorphous Materials. You can open the Acquisition Info to see all the Amorphous Materials containing the blueprint, but the easiest one is Amorphous Material Pattern: 046.
Amorphous Material Pattern: 046 has a drop rate of 26% – 44% and is obtained by completing a Special Operations mission called Neutralize the Hagios Void Experiment located in the Hagios region. The drop rate of Amorphous Material Pattern: 046 will increase as you survive for more rounds. After surviving each round, look for the possible rewards and when you get a higher chance of getting the material pattern, abort the mission to get it.
Once you have obtained the Amorphous Material, the next step is to defeat the Swamp Walker boss to open it. Go to Seneca and initiate the Swamp Walker fight. Defeat the Swamp Walker and interact with the Reconstructed Device to open the Amorphous Material Pattern: 046. However, the drop rate of the Viessa Spiral Catalyst Blueprint is only 38% so if you didn’t get the blueprint as a reward, you will have to repeat the whole process of getting the Amorphous Material and then opening it by defeating Swamp Walker.
Once you have got the Blueprint, you can go to Anais and initiate the Research of the Viessa Spiral Catalyst for a cost of 200,000 Gold. It will take 8 hours (Real Time) to complete and then you can claim it.
How to Get Viessa Enhanced Cells
All the Research Materials required for researching Viessa Enhanced Cells are the following.
422x Repton
290x Semi-permanent Plasma
40x Fusion Plasma Battery
1x Viessa Enhanced Cell Blueprint
Out of all these materials, the blueprint is the hardest to get, as the rest of them can be obtained by opening the chests and blue boxes. Viessa Enhanced Cells Blueprint has a chance of dropping by opening the Amorphous Material Pattern: 034. Amorphous Material Pattern: 034 has a drop rate of 20% and is obtained by completing the Shipment Base: Vulgus Strategic Outpost mission located in the White-night Gulch region.
Once you have obtained the Amorphous Material, the next step is to complete the Void Fusion Reactor mission in the Observatory area of the White-night Gulch region. It requires 13x Monomer Void Shard and 2x Organic Void Shard which are obtained by destroying the Void Fragments. Defeat the elite enemy spawn by activating the Void Fusion Reactor and then interact with the Reconstructed Device to open the Amorphous Material Pattern: 034 and hopefully get the Viessa Enhanced Cells Blueprint.
TIP: Run Bunny to destroy the Void Fragments vulnerable to Electric damage in Vespers and obtain the required Void Shards quickly.
However, the drop rate of the Viessa Enhanced Cells Blueprint is only 38% so if you didn’t get the blueprint as a reward, you will have to repeat the whole process of getting the Amorphous Material and then opening it by completing the Void Fusion Reactor mission.
Once you have got the Blueprint, you can go to Anais and initiate the Research of the Viessa Enhanced Cells for a cost of 200,000 Gold. It will take 8 hours (Real Time) to complete and then you can claim it.
How to Get Viessa Stabilizer
All the Research Materials required for researching Viessa Stabilizer are the following.
239x Compound Coating Material
499x Monomolecular Extractor
14x Common Carbon Activator
1x Viessa Stabilizer Blueprint
Out of all these materials, the blueprint is the hardest to get, as the rest of them can be obtained by opening the chests and blue boxes. Viessa Stabilizer Blueprint has a chance of dropping by opening the Amorphous Material Pattern: 014. Amorphous Material Pattern: 014 has a drop rate of 20% and is obtained by completing the Lost Supply Depot: Vulgus Strategic Outpost mission located in the Vespers region.
Once you have obtained the Amorphous Material, the next step is to complete the Void Fusion Reactor mission in the Lost Supply Depot area of the Vespers region. It requires 12x Polymer Void Shard and 3x Organic Void Shard which are obtained by destroying the Void Fragments. Defeat the elite enemy spawn by activating the Void Fusion Reactor and then interact with the Reconstructed Device to open the Amorphous Material Pattern: 014 and hopefully get the Viessa Enhanced Cells Blueprint.
TIP: Run Lepic or Blair to destroy the Void Fragments vulnerable to Fire damage in Vespers and obtain the required Void Shards quickly.
However, the drop rate of the Viessa Stabilizer Blueprint is only 38% so if you didn’t get the blueprint as a reward, you will have to repeat the whole process of getting the Amorphous Material and then opening it by completing the Void Fusion Reactor mission.
Once you have got the Blueprint, you can go to Anais and initiate the Research of the Viessa Stabilizer for a cost of 200,000 Gold. It will take 8 hours (Real Time) to complete and then you can claim it.
How to Get Viessa Code
The final Research Material for unlocking Viessa is the Viessa Code. To get Viessa Code, you will first have to get the Amorphous Material Pattern: 030. It can be obtained by completing the Caligo Ossuary mission in the Mining Site of the Agna Desert region. Moreover, it has a drop rate of 100% so you can easily farm it to get several material patterns.
Once you have obtained the Amorphous Material, you will have to defeat Devourer to open it and get the Viessa Code. However, Viessa Code also has a 15% chance of dropping so If you don’t get the Viessa Code, you will have to repeat the whole process of getting the Amorphous Material and then defeating Devourer to eventually get it.
Research Descendant: Viessa
After obtaining all 4 required materials for unlocking Viessa, head back to Albion and speak with Anais. Select the Descendant option and then select Viessa. Researching Viessa will cost you all 4 materials and 400,000 Gold.
Begin Researching for Viessa and it will take 16 hours (Real Time) for the research to be complete. Fortunately, the timer goes on even if you are offline so you will most likely use Viessa the next day. However, you can immediately complete the research by spending 240 Caliber (premium currency).
