Void Shards are one of the most essential materials in the game that will allow you to activate the Void Fusion Reactor which is basically the Void Mission. The Void Fusion Reactor allows you to summon a boss that you can defeat to open your gathered Amorphous Material Patterns by interacting with the dropped Reconstructed Device at the end.
This guide will help you how to get Void Shards in The First Descendant.
How to Get Void Shards in The First Descendant
There are three different types of Void Shards: Organic Void Shards, Inorganic Void Shards, Monomer Void Shards, and Polymer Void Shards. All of these shards are obtained from destroying the Void Fragments scattered throughout the areas of each region. The Void Fragments are large structures with a circular void in the middle that requires an attack of a certain attribute to be damaged.
If you hover over the Void Fragment, it will show you the type of attribute it needs for it to be destroyed. Make sure to use the appropriate Descendant according to the Void Fragment you are going to attack and upon attacking it, a few waves of enemy will spawn.
From here, repeat the procedure of defeating the wave of enemies > attacking the fragment > defeating the wave of enemies > attacking the fragment, and as the fragment breaks, it will drop a few numbers of void shards of all types.
After getting the Void Shards, you can move on to the next Void Fragment in the area or wait about a couple of minutes for the Void Fragment to be respawned.
