Pursuing the main story and side missions in each region of the world map will reward you with several weapons and gear items of various types most of which won’t be of any use to you. As the inventory and storage slots are limited in The First Descendant, filling them with the items you don’t need might frustrate you a bit and require you to drop an item every time you find a useful item for your character.
However, instead of just dropping the weapons and components, you can dismantle them to gain valuable materials which then can be used for leveling up your weapons and getting better components. Moreover, you can also sell them for extra Gold which might or might not be valuable for you as you can get tons of Gold by replaying missions.
This guide will help you how to dismantle weapons and gear items in The First Descendant.
How to Dismantle Weapons and Gear Items in The First Descendant
Dismantling of weapons and gear items like Reactors and Components can be done anywhere from your inventory in The First Descendant.
Dismantling Weapons
To Dismantle the weapons, open the Weapons List by heading into your inventory and selecting any weapon. Once there, you need to set the weapon as Junk by pressing the J button (PC) or R2/RT (Consoles), after that, hold the Ctrl button (PC) or R2/RT (Consoles) to dismantle the selected weapon.
Moreover, you can also dismantle all the weapons in the weapons list except the equipped weapons and the Ultimate ones at once. If you hold the Shift button (PC) or R3/RS button (Consoles), it will select all the weapons in the inventory as junk. After that simply hold down the designated key to dismantle them.
Dismantling the weapons will give the following two materials in return.
Superalloy
Liquid Metal
Dismantling Gear Items
To Dismantle the gear items, select any Reactor or Component in the Inventory to open the list of all the Reactors and Components. Similar to dismantling the weapons, you need to first set the gear item as junk to dismantle it. Press the designated key to set it as junk and then hold down the respective key to dismantle it.
Moreover, you can also mass-dismantle the gear items like weapons. So, if you are carrying several gear items that aren’t any of your use, set them all as junk to dismantle them.
Dismantling the Gear Items will give you the following materials in return.
Reactors > Solenoid and Superconductor Core
Components > Void Organism
