Freyna is one of the unlockable descendants you will meet while following the campaign. Unlocking her will require you to gather various materials by completing multiple missions to research Freyna. This guide will walk you through unlocking Freyna in The First Descendant.
How to Unlock Freyna in The First Descendant
Unlocking Freyna requires gathering 4 materials essential for initializing her research at Anais. These materials are gathered by completing certain missions over in Sterile Land and Vespers. Upon reaching Sterile Land by progressing in the main campaign, head to the Rockfall and you can begin the side mission for gathering Freyna Materials. The first material that you can gather is the Amorphous Material Pattern: Freyna which then can be opened to get the Freyna Code.
To get the Amorphous Material Pattern: Freyna, you will have to complete the Rockfall: Vulgus Strategic Outpost mission. Simply break three canisters and defeat the appeared commander in the area. However, there is only a 20% chance of getting the Amorphous Material Pattern: Freyna so you might have to replay this mission a few times to get it.
Once you have got the Pattern, the next step is to complete the Void Mission called Void Fragment. It is also located in the Rockfall and as you initiate it, you need to switch to Bunny and use her charged electric attacks to break the Void Reactor. After that, a subquest called Void Fusion Reactor will unlock. Make your way to the marker and use the Void Fragments to charge the Void Fusion Reactor and spawn the boss in the area. Defeat the boss and it will drop the Reconstructed Device. Use the device and select the Amorphous Material Pattern: Freyna to get the Freyna Code.
For the rest of the three materials, you will get them from completing missions in Vespers. Progress further into the main story to unlock the Vespers region and get the following materials by completing the respective missions.
Freyna Stabilizer – Obtained by completing the Ruins Path mission in the Lumber Yard area.
Freyna Spiral Catalyst – Obtained by completing the Ruins Underground Entrance mission in the Ruins area.
Freyna Enhanced Cells – Obtained by completing the Shelter mission in the Timberfalls area.
NOTE: Similar to the Amorphous Material Pattern: Freyna, all three of these materials have a drop rate of 20% so you might have to replay the missions a few times until you get the materials.
Research Descendant: Freyna
After obtaining all 4 required materials for unlocking Freyna, head back to Albion and speak with Anais. She runs the Research Institute and you will be seeing her often throughout your journey. Select the Descendant option and then select Freyna. Researching Freyna will cost you all 4 materials and 400,000 Gold.
Begin Researching for Freyna and it will take 16 hours (real-time) for the research to be complete. Fortunately, the timer goes on even if you are offline so you will most likely use Freyna the next day. However, you can immediately complete the research by spending 240 Caliber (premium currency).
