The First Descendant offers several weapons of various tiers that players will get to find and unlock as they progress through the campaign and explore various regions of the world. Out of all the tiers of the weapons, the Ultimate is the highest tier and players can luckily get themselves an Ultimate Weapon called Thunder Cage in the beginning hours of the journey.
This guide will help you how to get the Thunder Cage in The First Descendant.
How to Get the Thunder Cage in The First Descendant
Thunder Cage is one of the earliest and probably the first Ultimate Weapons in the game, and similar to the Descendants, the Ultimate Weapons can only be obtained by researching them. Researching the Thunder Cage will require 4 exclusive materials that can only be obtained by completing certain missions over in the Sterile Land region.
Once you have made enough progress in the campaign to unlock the Sterile Land region, you will be able to unlock the Side Quest for obtaining the Ultimate Weapon materials. Upon unlocking the quest, track it to see all the required materials and what missions you need to complete to get them.
Thunder Cage Polymer Syncytium – Obtained from completing the External Reactor mission in the Rockfall area.
Thunder Cage Synthetic Fiber – Obtained from completing the Kuiper Mine mission in the Repository area.
Thunder Cage Nano Tube – Obtained from completing the High-powered Jammer mission in the Restricted Zone area.
Thunder Cage Blueprint – Obtained from completing the Logistics Facility mission in the Ironworks area.
NOTE: All of the missions are in different areas than the others and the only way to get access to those areas is to progress through the main story. Make sure to complete all of the main missions in each area to get to the new area and then pursue the required mission to get the next material.
All of the missions mentioned above have a drop rate of 100% for the Thunder Cage materials so completing them either alone or in a Public Party will get you those materials.
Research Thunder Cage
After obtaining all 4 required materials for unlocking Thunder Cage, head back to Albion and speak with Anais. She runs the Research Institute and you will be seeing her often throughout your journey. Select the Weapon option and then select Thunder Cage. Researching Thunder Cage will cost you all 4 materials and 100,000 Gold.
Begin Researching for Thunder Cage and it will take 4 hours (Real Time) for the research to be complete. Fortunately, the timer will continue even if you go offline and you will be able to claim the reward of Thunder Cage exactly after 4 hours.
