The First Descendant is a free-to-play Looter-Shooter RPG in which you take the role of a Descendant to take down the alien invaders known as Vulgus. As you progress through the main story, you will encounter several puzzles for completing various missions. Completing these missions is mandatory for unlocking the new areas in the region, and one of the puzzles that might confuse players is finding and decrypting two hidden Encrypted Vaults in the region of Sterile Land.

How to Find the Encrypted Vaults in The First Descendant
Finding the Encrypted Vaults is a required task for the Magister’s Hidden Assets quest in Sterile Land. The quest requires you to find any two hidden encrypted vaults and decrypt them. However, unlike other missions, there is no quest marker to provide you assistance in finding the vaults. Instead, you will have to use your Scanner by pressing the R3/RS Button and hear for an unusual sound. If you hear the normal sound while pressing the button, turn around and go a bit ahead in another direction to try the scanner again.
Upon hearing the unusual sound on the scanner, continue on the path until you see a black floating mannequin. The black floating mannequin is the hidden encrypted vault that you are looking for, Now, these vaults are scattered throughout the areas of the Sterile Land region but we found a couple of them in the Classified Area.
How to Decrypt the Encrypted Vaults in The First Descendant
Upon finding the encrypted vaults, you need to decrypt them using the Precision Code Analyzer. It is a standard item and can be obtained from completing various missions. Go close to the vault and press the interaction key to use a Precision Code Analyzer. It will open the decryption menu where you will have to complete a mini-game. The mini-game is simple, all you have to do is press the prompted key whenever the Red Line comes over the bright blue area. However, there will be a timer below and you need to press all the buttons before the time runs out. Moreover, if you fail to press the button, it will block the vault and you have to try again.
NOTE: Blocking the vault due to the end of the timer or failing to press the button at the right time will cost you a Precision Code Analyzer.
