Radahn, Consort of Miquella is the final main boss in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree and players will get to encounter him at the top of the Enir-Ilim, the final area of the Realm of Shadow.
Radahn, Consort of Miquella has a wide variety of attacks including magic, sword sweep/thrust combos, AOE, Holy Lightning, and projectile. Moreover, he has a swift attack pattern that gives you little room to punish him and if you over-push the limit, you might face an unfortunate fate. However, there are some ways through which you can make this fight easy for yourself and get more openings on him to deal great damage.
This guide will help you how to defeat Radahn, Consort of Miquella in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
Where to Find Radahn, Consort of Miquella in Shadow of the Erdtree
Radahn, Consort of Miquella is the final boss of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC of Elden Ring. He can be found at the top of the Enir-Ilim area behind the door to the Divine Gate Front Staircase Site of Grace. However, reaching the Enir-Ilim area will require you to burn the Sealing Tree for which you have to defeat a few main bosses.
Read our detailed guide on how to burn the Sealing Tree for more information.
After reaching Enir-Ilim, make your way ahead along the staircase to reach the First Rise Site of Grace. From here, go along the path on the left side to reach an open area. Jump over the gap in the bridge and then continue along the path on the left side to go up the staircases. Open the door on top of the staircase to find the Spiral Rise Site of Grace.
Go up the Spiral Staircase to jump out on the roof and continue ahead to climb up through the roof to reach the Cleansing Chamber Anternoon Site of Grace. Now, continue ahead to defeat Needle Knight Leda and other followers of Miquella in a fight. Continue ahead through the door to reach the elevator. Activate the elevator to reach the staircase and then continue ahead to reach the Divine Gate Front Staircase Site of Grace.
How to Defeat Radahn, Consort of Miquella in Shadow of the Erdtree | Best Strategy
Radahn, Consort of Miquella is probably the most relentless boss in the DLC as he gives you very little room for breathing and his attacks hit very hard, especially if you haven’t increased your defense by getting the Scadutree Fragments.
His thrusting and slashing attacks combined in combos with AOE attacks force you to roll away for most of the fight but if you stay close to him instead of keeping a distance, he will do the basic slash combos for most of the time which are easy to dodge by either rolling in the forward direction. Moreover, to make this easier for yourself, you can use the summon signs outside of the boss arena.
NOTE: The summon signs will only appear if you complete the quests for them.
Interact with the golden messages on the floor to summon Thiollier and Pureblood Knight Ansbach to assist you in the fight. However, using the summons will upscale the health of Radahn which will extend this fight.
Furthermore, an easier way to get assistance in this fight is to use the Spirit Ashes or the Mimic Tear. Fully maxed Mimic Tear will stand its ground for the most time of the fight giving you all the openings to attack Radahn from behind with your special attacks, charged attacks, and even ranged attacks while he is fighting the Tear and the summon.
Best Build and Weapon to Use Against Radahn, Consort of Miquella
Radahn, Consort of Miquella is weak against bleed so using a Dex/Arcane build will help you a lot in this fight. Moreover, since the Mimic Tear uses the same weapon and incantations as yours, equipping yourself with the best bleed weapons and incantations will allow Mimic Tear to deal extensive damage to him.
The best weapon for this fight is Bloodfiend’s Arm as it scales with Strength and Arcane. Having a high Arcane will do up to 220 bloodloss. Moreover, attach the Lion’s Claw Ash of War to it to land heavy strikes easily. Add the Spiked Cracked Tear and Stonebarb Cracked Tear into the Wondrous Physick Flask to make heavy attacks stronger and stagger Radahn easily.
Lastly, for the talismans, use the following.
Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman
Two-Handed Sword Talisman
Blade of Mercy
Shard of Alexander
Radahn, Consort of Miquella Fight Strategy
Upon entering the boss arena, Radahn will do its magic roll attack to jump toward you and spawn several spikes on the ground. You can easily dodge it by rolling in the forward direction or to the side. Now, this move is punishable so you can either choose to land a heavy attack, special attack, or summon the Mimic Tear. If you summon the Mimic Tear, you need to avoid the next sweep combo of him to land your first hit on him.
After that, you can either choose to stay close to him to fight alongside Mimic Tear or get away from him and let Mimic Tear fight him. If you have maxed out Mimic Tear and increased its defense with Revered Spirit Ashes, he will be able to tank hits and deal significant damage to Radahn to bring him to the second phase but it might not be able to stay for too long in the second phase.
Moreover, if you want to punish Radahn Solo, then you must learn his attack pattern to know the openings for your attacks.
Magic Rocks: Radahn will charge his swords and swipe on the ground to fly in the forward direction spawning several rocks with him. After that, he shoots down the rocks at your position. You need to roll to the left side to dodge flying Radahn and then roll to the side or run and jump to dodge the rocks. Radahn will land far so, you will not be able to get a hit on him.
Magic Pull: Radahn will charge his swords while lowering down and then cross the swords to pull you in to do a follow-up attack of spikes. Roll in any direction at the time when he crosses the swords to dodge the pull. He will mostly do this attack when you are far from him.
Frontflip Strikes: While you are far from Radahn, he will strike his swords down to go into the air and will land a spinning attack on your location. Sometimes, he does this twice in a row. As he lands, roll in the forward direction to dodge the attack and get a light hit on it. If he does not follow it up with a second, you can land a heavy attack on him.
Three-Hit Sweep Combo: Radahn will begin this combo with his left hand, do a right sweep immediately after the first sweep, and then finish the combo by crossing the swords in the middle. You cannot dodge this attack completely unless you block it. The best way to get through this attack and punish Radahn at the end is to roll forward for the first sweep and you will get caught by the second sweep as there isn’t enough time to roll through the second sweep. After that, roll through the crossing swords and land a special or heavy attack on Radahn.
Four-Hit Sweep Combo: Radahn will begin the combo with his right hand to land a thrust, then follow it up with a couple of sweeps, and then strike both swords on the ground. The ground will burst up into spikes after a short period. Dodge the thrust and the sweeps by rolling around him and as he strikes the ground, move to the left side or dodge to the left side. Dodging this attack will give you a big opening to land extensive damage.
You can punish him by starting with a Special attack and then follow it up with a heavy attack. Most probably you will stagger him at his point so take advantage of him to land a critical hit. Apart from these attacks in the first phase, he also has a stabbing attack where he stabs in the forward direction and then sweeps to open a flaming explosion in the air. Simply, roll to the side and roll behind him to dodge the stab and the explosion.
Upon depleting Radahn’s HP by about 40%, the second phase will begin where you will fight Radahn, Consort of Miquella. At the start of the second phase, Radahn will most likely start levitating which will spawn a Holy Circle beneath you, and its radius will start increasing. Run immediately out of its range to dodge the explosion and then roll away from the Holy Pillars around the arena. The base attacks of Radahn in the second phase are the same as the first phase but he does have additional attacks which he will use from time to time.
Holy Pulse: Radahn will cross his swords to glow them in gold and as he uncrosses his swords a big Holy Pulse will spread. Roll in the forward direction as soon as he uncrosses his sword to dodge the attack. He mostly does this attack when you are far from him.
Holy Projectile and Echo Follow-Up: While standing at a distance from Radahn, he will shoot a Holy Projectile at you and then dash to the left side to send out an Echo Attack and then strike himself. Roll to the side to dodge the projectile and then roll twice in the forward direction to dodge the follow-up attacks. Now, land a heavy or special attack on Radahn.
Holy Projectile and Aerial Echo Follow-Up: Similar to the previous attack, Radahn will send out a Holy Projectile at your position and then fly up to send three Echo Attacks and then attack himself at the fourth strike. Roll to the side for the projectile and the three Echo Attacks and then roll in the forward direction for the fourth strike to get close to Radahn and then land a hit on him.
Magic Rocks Echo Follow-Up: Radahn will do the same magic rocks attack as in the first phase but after shooting the rocks, he will also send three Echo strikes at you and then land a fourth strike himself which will cause an explosion. Roll to the side to dodge the echo attacks and then roll in the forward direction to dodge Radahn and then roll to the left side to dodge the explosion. After that, you will be able to land a heavy strike on him or the special attack.
Heart Stealer (Grab Attack): Radahn will open his arms and start to glow before he jumps over to you and tries to grab you. If you get grabbed by Radahn, Miquella will pull a spell on you. It will not do anything now but if you get grabbed again during the fight, Miquella will steal your heart which will ultimately kill you. You need to dodge the grab by rolling to the side just before he lands and you will be able to get a hit on him.
As you punish Radahn by taking advantage of his attacks or hitting him from behind while he is fighting Mimic Tear, he will do the Meteor Attack, similar to the original one that he does in the base game. Run far from the point where he flew up and let him crash. Keeping enough distance from him is enough to dodge the attack. If you stay close to his landing point, you will die instantly.
For the rest of the fight, keep repeating the process of dodging his attacks and then punishing him at every opening. If you get a special attack hit after a heavy attack, you will most likely stagger him which will allow you to land a critical hit on him.
