Water is one of the essential items for survival and it is no different in ASKA. For you and your villagers to survive on a Viking land, you must seek opportunities to get both food and water to keep on surviving through each day of struggle. Unlike food in ASKA which can be gathered from various means like foraging Mussels, Garlic, Onion, Hunting, Fishing, and Farming, water is obtained through only one means and that is storing rainwater.

How to Get Water in ASKA
A low amount of water can be obtained from a Natural Water Collector which is basically a rock with water on it. You can find these rocks throughout the world map and they are essential for getting water in the starting hour of your playthrough. However, getting water in ASKA will mainly require you to build a couple of different structures in your settlement which include Rain Collector and Water Well.
The Rain Collector is one of the earliest building structures in the game that you will unlock right after building your first shelter. You can build a Rain Collector with a 6x Stick and a 3x Long Stick. After building the Rain Collector, it will start collecting water over time whether it is raining or not. It collects up to 10 Water which is enough for you and one villager.
However, if you have several villagers, then you should try building the Water Well which is unlocked after building several other structures in the settlement. To build a water well, you will have to place its foundation on one of the Natural Water Collector rocks. Find a nearby Natural Water Collector rock and then place the well foundation on top of it. After that, provide it with the required materials to finish building it.
The Water Well stores a total of 50 water which is enough for about 10 persons. Moreover, building multiple Rain Collectors and Water Wells around your settlement will help you greatly in getting an overwhelming amount of water.
How to Gather and Drink Water
If you go close to a Rain Collector or the Water Well, you will get the option to both drink and harvest water. Hold the E button to drink directly from the source or hold the R button to gather water in your water bottle to consume it later.
