A New Recruit is the beginning quest of the new free update, The Lucky Dragon in Disney Dreamlight Valley. The quest will require players to access the new Mulan’s Realm at the Dream Castle and meet one of the new characters. This guide will walk you through the A New Recruit quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How to Complete A New Recruit Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Starting the Quest
Upon loading your Dreamlight Valley world after updating it to the Lucky Dragon update, it will automatically add the A New Recruit quest to the quests menu. Go ahead and make it an active quest to start following it.
Explore the Mulan Realm
Make your way to the Dream Castle and go up to the second floor. Here, you will find the new Realm door on the right side of the Beauty and Beast Realm. Interact with Mulan Realm Door and use 15,000 Dreamlight to unlock the realm. Once it is unlocked, interact with the door again to step into the Mulan Realm.
After the cutscene, continue straight ahead and go through the door ahead to find Mushu at the camp. Speak to Mushu introduce yourself and he will give you a task to clean the camp.
Clean up the Camp
To clean up the camp, you need to do the following activities.
Break 8 Rocks using the Royal Pickaxe.
Dip out 12 Rice Spills using the Royal Shovel.
Interact with the cauldron to fix it.
Rocks and the Rice Spills are scattered around the camp so go around to find them and use the respective tool to clean them up. After cleaning up the camp, go back to Mushu and speak with him.
Find the Training Uniform Around the Realm
After speaking with Mushu, he will tell you to look around the Realm to find a Training Uniform for yourself. You can find the outfit items at the following locations.
Training Socks – Found inside the last small tent beside the second gate of the camp.
Training Shirt – Found inside the first small tent beside the main gate of the camp.
Training Pants – Found on the tree to the right side of the main gate of the camp.
Training Shoes – Go out the second gate of the camp and turn left to find the shoes on a rock ahead.
Upon finding all training uniform clothing items, go back to Mushu and hand them over. Mushu will give you back the clothing items and will tell you to put on the Training Uniform. Open the Wardrobe and select the Requests section to find the Complete Training Uniform.
Prepare a Bowl of Mushu’s Congee for Mulan
After equipping the Complete Training Uniform, speak with Mushu and he will tell you to prepare a Bowl of Mushu’s Congee. Open the inventory and use the recipe book to learn the recipe for Mushu’s Congee. Interact with the cooking station beside Mushu and navigate to the quests section to find the recipe. Cooking Mushu’s Congee will require the following ingredients.
1x Wheat
1x Egg
1x Mushroom
1x Garlic
1x Ginger
Ring the Gong Next to Mulan’s Tent
After cooking Mushu’s Congee, ring the gong next to Mulan’s tent by interacting with it to wake up Mulan.
Completing the Quest
After waking up Mulan, speak with her to give her Mushu’s Congee and go through the dialogues to conclude the quest. Completing the A New Recruit quest will automatically begins the next main quest called The Dragon Army.
