7 Days to Die is now officially out of the Early Access stage after 11 years of its successful journey. With the release of the 1.0 version of 7 Days to Die, there are several new additions to the game that players must grasp quickly to enhance their chances of survival. One of the new features of the game is to upgrade your Wooden Storage Boxes to Iron Storage Boxes which will give you more space for storage and increase the hit points for the storage boxes before they break.

This guide will help you how to get the Storage Box and upgrade it in 7 Days to Die.

How to Get the Storage Box in 7 Days to Die

Storage Box is one of the early structural items that you can easily build anywhere and place down to start storing the items in your inventory. Complete the initial set of Challenges (tutorial) to redeem and unlock various rewards and then continue onward to find a suitable place for a settlement. However, establishing your settlement will take you some time due to leveling the ground and placing the foundations, it is better to pick a building near the starting trader, Rekt.

Upon choosing an initial building for your safe resting until your settlement is completely built, make sure to put down the Land Claim Block as it will prevent the zombies from spawning inside your building. Once done, all you have to do is open the crafting menu and search the Wood Storage Box to find its recipe. It will require 10x Wood to craft 1x Wood Storage Box and gives you a storage of 48 slots.

How to Upgrade the Storage Box in 7 Days to Die

There are two upgrades for the Storage Boxes in 7 Days to Die, Iron Storage and Steel Storage. Iron is the first upgrade that you will be able to do on the Wood Storage Box and it will increase the storage slots to 64. However, you will need a decent amount of Forged Iron to get the upgrade. The last upgrade is the Steel Storage which increases the storage slots to 80 and increases the hit points even further. Similar to other steel recipes, you will need the Forged Steel to make the upgrade.

With these updates, you won’t have to worry much about losing your storage boxes to the zombies like in the Alpha 21 version. Both of these upgrades can take a lot of hits but make sure that you get rid of the zombies quickly before they manage to break them.
