Rellana, Twin Moon Knight is one of the main bosses in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree that players will get to encounter at the end of the second Legacy Dungeon called Castle Ensis. Rellana, Twin Moon Knight is the final boss of the Castle Ensis Legacy Dungeon located northeast of Gravesite Plain. Players can reach the Castle Ensis by traversing to the northeast side of the Three-Path Cross Site of Grace. Upon crossing the bridge, they will reach the Castle Front and enter the Castle Ensis. From here, they need to continue ahead in the Castle Ensis to reach the Castle-Lord’s Chambler Site of Grace where they will be able to encounter Rellana, Twin Moon Knight.
How to Defeat Rellana, Twin Moon Knight in Shadow of the Erdtree | Best Strategy
Rellana, Twin Moon Knight is probably the most relentless foe you will encounter at this point of the DLC as she gives you very little room for breathing. Her thrusting and slashing attacks combined in combos will force you to roll away for most of the fight but if you roll into her instead of rolling away after each slash, you will be able to land in a hit after every attack. Moreover, to make this easier for yourself, you can use the summon outside the boss room. Interact with the golden message on the floor to summon Needle Knight Leda to assist you in the fight.
However, summoning her will upscale the HP of Rellana which will take more time to defeat her. The easiest way to make use of assistance is to use the Spirit Ashes or the Mimic Tear. Fully maxed Mimic Tear will stand its ground until the end of the fight giving you all the openings to attack Rellana from behind with your special attacks, charged attacks, and even ranged attacks while she is fighting the Tear.
Rellana, Twin Moon Knight is weak against bleed so using a Dex build will help you a lot in this fight. Summon the Needle Knight Leda if you feel necessary or just go into the boss room and summon the Mimic Tear (recommended). Heal yourself and dodge the falling swords to let the Mimic Tear attack her and divert her attention. Buff yourself and the weapons with the incantations and then use the special on her from behind. Moreover, follow the dodging pattern mentioned below to take advantage of her following attacks.
Spin Attack Combo: She will move swiftly to spin in the right direction and swing the swords. Keep your distance at the start and as she slashes both of her swords downward, roll forward to hit her a couple of times.
Lunge Attack Combo: She will lunge toward you while swinging both of the swords. Roll forward first, then to the side, and lastly forward to dodge all of her slashes. After that, hit her with your attacks.
Magic Greatsword Sweep Attack: When you have almost depleted 50% of her health, she will do a magic sweep attack. Dodge the downward thrust first by rolling and then rolling again when she does the sweep. If you are close to her while dodging this attack, you will be able to get a hit on her.
Apart from these combos, she will use the slash attacks momentarily when you go close to her so keep an eye on the slashes and either dodge forward or to the side to have a chance of hitting her. Make use of your Mimic Tear appearance to keep damaging her to push on to the second phase.
If you see her changing her stance, she will be enchanting her swords. At this time, if you are close to her while she is enchanting her swords, you can easily get your special attack on her.
