This guide will walk you through the Engineering (1st Visit) segment in Still Wakes the Deep.

Engineering – Walkthrough

Upon entering the Engineering through the Starboard, you will meet Finlay. She will fill you up on the location of the generator.

Reset the Protective Relay

After speaking with Finlay, go to the room on the left side and crawl under the tight space to reach the control room. Interact with the Relay switch to reset the Protective Relay. It will start the generators so head back out to meet with Finlay. Unfortunately, the generators will trip due to a fault somewhere else and Finlay will advise you to start the generators manually.

Find the Generator Room

Go to the Mud Handling room ahead and interact with the valve to stop the leakage. Climb down the ladder ahead and go through the vent space on the right side. Upon coming out of the other side of the vent space, climb the ladder and go through the door ahead. Now, crouch down and silently make your way to the staircase on the other side to enter a room.

Open the door inside and climb the ladder on the right side. Follow the path ahead to climb down the ladder on the other side and you will reach the Generator Room. Close the valve as you enter the room and go around the room to enter the vent ahead. As you come out of the vent, you will have to make your way to the Generator Control Hut.

Get into the Generator Control Hut

Upon entering the open room with generators, you will encounter Addair (monster). You need to be silent and use the tunnels to not get caught by him, similar to the strategy on deck (2nd visit). Make your way to the tunnel in the center of the room and from here, wait until Addair goes to the right side so you can climb the ladder on the left side of the room. Go up the staircase and enter the open hatch to reach the Control Hut.

Power Up the Rig Modules

To power up the Rig Modules you have to push the switches in the following order.

Engineering

Processing

Administration

Deck

Accommodation

Doing so will power up the generators for a moment and you will get to speak with Finlay.

Restart the Generator

After speaking with Finlay, grab the key from the room and interact with the vent to open it. Crawl out of the Control Hut through the vent space and go to the ignition (yellow) machine. Interact with it and hold down the prompted key on the screen to restart the generator.

Fix the Fault in Mud Handling

Upon restarting the generator, Addair will come back so hop back into the tunnel ahead to gradually make your way back up to the staircase leading to the generator room. As you reach the room, Addair will come after you so run to the Mud Handling door to trap Addair.

Go up the ladder on the left and make your way to the other side to reach the Mud Handling. Go down the staircase and run to the Fusebox ahead and interact with it to fix the fault.

Reset the Protective Relay

Upon fixing the fuse in the Mud Handling, Addair will come back. Interact with the door on the left and press the prompted button on the screen to break the lock. Run straight ahead to go through a couple of doors and enter the vents. Crawl through the vents to come out of the other side and then squeeze through the pipes ahead.

There will be another locked door ahead so open it up by breaking the lock and then head to the right side. Quickly enter a tunnel on the right side and wait for Addair to move away to continue towards the control room. Once you are close to the control room, make a run for it.

After reaching the control room, interact with the relay switch to reset it and all the generators will come online.

Answer the Phone

Once the generators are powered up, go to the next room and interact with the phone. After speaking with Brodie on the phone, open the next door to go ahead and climb down the ladder. Continue to the door ahead to exit to Pontoons (Leg A).
