The Powerhouse of the Cell is one of the new main quests in Fallout 76 added with the Skyline Valley update. It is the sixth main quest that players can begin inside Vault 63 by speaking with the Security Head named James Oberlin. This guide will walk you through how to complete The Powerhouse of the Cell quest in Fallout 76.
How to Complete The Powerhouse of the Cell Quest in Fallout 76
How to Start the Quest
The Powerhouse of the Cell quest becomes available after completing the Housekeeping for Hire quest. During the Housekeeping for Hire quest, you will be required to solve the issues for the residents of Vault 63. Once you have completed this quest, the head of security, James Oberlin will have another task for you, and as you speak to him The Powerhouse of the Cell quest will begin.
Go to Shining Creek Caverns
Upon speaking with Oberlin, he will tell you to go to the Organic Sector to find Hilda Stolz and bring her back. Leave Vault 63 and make your way to the eastern side by following the objective marker to reach the entrance to Shining Creek Caverns.
Search for the Organic Sector Entrance
Upon entering the caverns, make your way ahead but be careful of the radscorpions. Eliminate all of the enemies and follow the objective marker leading to the Research Room. Go to the right side to find the door to Vault 63 Organic Sector. Interact with the sliding door to enter the Organic Sector.
Go to Hilda’s Office and Speak with her
Upon entering the Organic Sector, continue straight and open the sliding door to reach an open area. Eliminate the Lost Engineer in the area and open the Foyer Door. Go upstairs and eliminate the rest of the Lost enemies. Once done, make your way to the other side and walk through the lasers to find an elevator that will take you to Hilda’s Office.
After finding Hilda in her office, speak with her to learn what she has been testing in this facility. Agree to help her with the tests to proceed ahead.
Go to the Greenhouse to search for Henry
Leave Hilda’s Office and make your way to the Pharmaceutical Wing on the left side. From here, make your way to the Greenhouse while killing all the Lost enemies along the way. Once you are in the Greenhouse, take out the remaining Lost in the area and look for Henry. Henry is a glowing plant in the area that you need to interact with to take a sample from it. After taking the sample, listen to Hilda as she fills you in on the next step.
Create Serum Alpha and Use it on Sedated Lost
Make your way to the Pharmaceutical R&D Lab by following the objective marker and eliminate all the Lost enemies in the lab. After that, follow the objective marker to find the Serum Mixer and interact with it to make the Serum Alpha. Now, head to the Clinical Trials Chamber 1 in the lab and head inside the room with Sedated Lost. Interact with the Lost to use the Serum Alpha on them but it will make them more violent so, eliminate them immediately and then listen to Hilda again.
Gather the Unusual Fungi and Report back to Hilda
After listening to Hilda, make your way back to the Greenhouse and pick up the Cave Gate Key. Now, go to the pipe in the Greenhouse and interact with it to enter a cave. The cave is filled with various creatures so take them out and follow the objective markers to pick up all three Unusual Fungi. Once done, make your way back to the pipe and interact with it to reach the Organic Sector.
Upon reaching the Organic Sector, make your way back to Hilda’s Office and speak with her to hand over the Fungi.
Go to the Surgery Lab in the Biology Wing and Use Serum Beta on Sedated Lost
Leave Hilda’s Office and follow the objective marker to reach the Biology Wing. From there, make your way to the Clinic and then to the Surgery Lab. Eliminate all of the Lost enemies in the lab and then make your way to the Sedated Lost and interact with them to administer the Serum. Unfortunately, it will make the Ghoul more violent so you will have to kill them as well. After defeating the Empowered Lost, listen to Hilda.
Go to the Vat Storage and Place the Serum Omega
After listening to Hilda, follow the objective marker to reach the Fluid Handling. Eliminate the enemies in the area and make your way to the Vat Storage Control Room. Kill all of the Lost enemies inside the control room and follow the objective marker to reach the VAT storage. Interact with the Serum Administrator machine to place the Serum Omega into it.
Return to Hilda’s Office
After observing the situation and listening to Hilda, make your way back to Hilda’s Office either from the same way you came or use the Terminal to unlock the door. Once you have reached Hilda’s Office, speak with her and go through the dialogue.
Report to Oberlin
After understanding the importance of the test by speaking to Hilda, she will agree to come back to Vault 63. Now, fast-travel back to Vault 63 and make your way to the Security Room to report the safe return of Hilda to Oberlin. Speaking to Oberlin will conclude the quest and a new quest will be available for you to pursue called Double-Crossed Wires.
