Fallout 76: How to Complete the Between the Lines Quest

The Between the Lines is one of the new main quests in Fallout 76 added with the Skyline Valley update. It is the fourth/fifth main quest that players can begin inside Vault 63 by speaking with the overseer named Hugo Stolz. This guide will walk you through how to complete the Between the Lines quest in Fallout 76.

How to Start the Quest

The Between the Lines quest becomes available after completing the Clam Before quest. During the Calm Before quest, you will make your way to Vault 63 and meet with various members including the overseer, Hugo Stolz. Once you have completed this quest, the overseer of Vault 63 will have another task for you and as you speak to him the Between the Lines quest will begin.

Search the Stolz’s Room for Cassidy’s Journal

After speaking with Hugo, follow the objective marker to go to Stolz’s Room and search for Cassidy’s Journal. Cassidy’s Journal is located on the middle portion of the table beside the sofa. Go to the back of the table to see the journal and then pick it up to read it.

Search for Cassidy near the Waterfall

Leave Stolz’s Room and follow the objective marker to make your way to the Garden. Once there, go to the left side towards the waterfall and there will be a hidden small cavern pattern leading to a sliding door. Open the sliding door to go inside and there will be a sliding door on the right that you need to open.

The door will be inaccessible due to the broken Fusebox but if you inspect it, it will give a hint of a quick shot. Shoot a bullet on the Fusebox and the door will open. Go inside and you will find Cassidy in the state of Coma on the bed. Interact with her to retrieve the Key for Hugo’s Wall Safe.

As you retrieve the key, Hugo will walk in, speak with him, and go through the dialogues to proceed ahead.

Retrieve the Weather Machine Blueprints

After speaking with Hugo, leave the area and return to the Overseer’s Office. Open the Wall Safe in the office to retrieve the Weather Machine Blueprints. Now, go back to the Garden and speak with Hugo to give him the blueprints.

Go to Vault 63 Meteorology Sector

Unfortunately, Hugo can’t read the blueprints and he will tell you to bring the blueprints to his daughter, Audrey at the Meteorology Sector. Leave Vault 63 and follow the objective marker to reach Hawksbill Weather Station. Once there, interact with the switch to open the Blast Door. Continue ahead and open the sliding door leading to Vault 63 Meteorology Sector.

Find Audrey and Deliver the Blueprints

It looks like the Meteorology Sector is not in good shape so make your way down the stairs and enter the first room on the right to find Audrey. Speak with her and go through the dialogues to conclude the quest. As the quest ends, a new quest will be available called Seeking Shelter.
