This guide will walk you through the second episode, North Star of Night Springs expansion in Alan Wake 2.
Episode 2: North Star – Walkthrough
The second episode of the Night Springs expansion will put you in the shoes of Jesse Faden, the protagonist of Control. She is guided by an angel in this story who is helping to find her brother.
Look For Your brother
You will begin at the entrance of the Coffee World Park but the entrance door will be locked and require a 3-digit code. Head inside the portable cabin on the side to find a list of the admissions. The list will have the dates along with the numbers. A light will shine on Saturday 15th representing the 238 as a 3-digit code.
Go back to the locked gate and interact with the lock to enter 2-3-8 as the code to open the gate. Head inside the park to see a Gazebo ahead filled with light. There will be multiple paths in the park but almost all of them will be filled with darkness and shadow people. Go to the right and follow the path to reach the gazebo where you will meet Sheriff Timothy Breaker.
Speak with the Sheriff and he will tell you about a warehouse nearby where you can find some information about the missing people. Moreover, he will tell you to grab the Pistol and a Flashlight from the bench. Interact with the pistol on the bench to pick it up and the flashlight.
Get Inside the Warehouse
Continue ahead from the Gazebo to reach the Tasting Room where you will encounter a few Shadow Monsters. After dealing with them, make your way back to the Roasting Bar. Now, continue straight from the Roasting Bar to reach a blocked path by darkness. Use the Flashlight to remove the darkness and then eliminate the shadow monsters to reach the Warehouse.
First Verification
The entrance to the warehouse will be locked and it will require you to recite the fourth word of the Dark Triangle Coffee mission statement. You will get a couple of options as answers but none of them is correct so you will have to look for the orientation video of Dark Triangle Coffee to learn the word. There is nothing around the warehouse that will give you any information regarding the tape, so head back to the Gazebo to speak with the sheriff.
Go through the dialogues with the sheriff and he will tell you that he hid the videotape inside the Cup #4 at the Ferris Wheel. He will put the Ferris Wheel Control Key on the table for you to pick it up. Get the key and make your way to the Ferris Wheel. Access the control with the key and move the wheel until Cup #4 gets low, and then interact with the control again to stop the wheel.
Interact with cup #4 to get the orientation videotape and make your way to the Welcome Center located on the right side of the gazebo. Watch the tape to learn the fourth word which will be “Truth” and the password for the warehouse. Go to the warehouse and interact with the machine to complete the first verification.
Second Verification
The second verification will require the correct temperature for coffee in Fahrenheit. Make your way to the Roasting Bar and read the three posters on the side of the machine.
The first poster will give you the clue that the temperature is higher than 180 (60+60+60, all three angles of the triangle), the second poster will give you the clue that the first digit is half of the second digit and the last digit is one less than the second digit, and the third poster will give you the clue that the optimal temperature is lower than 500. Moreover, the third poster also states the name of the planet as X – 13. If you place 500 in the place of X and subtract 13 from it, you will get 487 as an answer.
Now, use 487 as the code on the roasting machine and it will work. Go back to the warehouse and interact with the machine to complete the second step of verification.
Final Verification
The final verification for entering the warehouse will require you to TRY THE COFFEE. To find the coffee, head to the Tasting Room near the gazebo. Enter the tasting room to find a cup of coffee on the table. Interact with it to drink the coffee. After tasting the coffee, several gunshots will be heard near the warehouse. Go to the warehouse to find Sheriff. Speak with him and then make your way to the warehouse and interact with the machine to finally enter the warehouse but with no gun.
Continue Looking For Your Brother
As you enter the warehouse, you will see a guy roaming inside the warehouse dressed up as a coffee mug. You need to stay hidden and let him go to the left side. Run to the right side and you will see a table at the back. Go near it and loot the toolbox on the table to find the Warehouse Office Key. After getting the key, go to the warehouse office ahead and use the key to get inside.
Open the next door inside the office to find Sheriff again but this time clearly affected by the coffee. Ignore the sheriff and go down into the basement by climbing down the ladder behind the sheriff. Continue ahead to the next door in the basement and as you open it a cutscene will play which concludes the North Star episode of Night Springs.
