Anime Defenders Units
Who can you collect in Anime Defenders? All units are based on anime characters, which you can probably guess from the game’s title. Anyway, all units are split up into their own rarity groups. There are:
Rare unitsEpic unitsLegendary unitsMythic unitsSecret units (very elusive, literally!)
Mythic and Secret units are the clear winners, with Legendary units being close behind. Anything below that is fairly decent but is more of a placeholder until you get lucky enough to obtain the higher rarities when summoning.
The more rare a unit is, the better they are on the battlefield in terms of overall skills and stats. In terms of stats, all units have Range, Cooldown, and Attack stats to pay attention to when upgrading. We have an Anime Defenders Tier List to help you out!
How to Upgrade Units
While deploying your units onto the battlefield costs resources, so does upgrading! You must upgrade your units as much as possible during a fight, especially your stronger ones. Strategise and plan which units will be getting the most upgrades in battle. Units can also be evolved outside of combat, to make them more powerful overall.
I recommend sticking to the rarer units on your team, as they are undeniably more powerful. Depending on the number and type of enemies, you may need to prioritise your AoE units over your sole target ones. All upgrades require resources and Yen, with some upgrade levels providing extra abilities.

Unit Types
As well as the various rarities, there are also specific unit roles, or ‘types’. Firstly, you have the Attack-type units. They range from AoE (area of effect) attacks, DoT (damage over time) attacks, and sole target attacks.
The more enemies that get hit, the better, which makes AoE units a must for your team. However, DoT units can apply pressure across the map by dealing continuous damage.
