General Cassius the Betrayer is one of the new mid-game V Blood bosses in V Rising that players can encounter and defeat to unlock various useful recipes including a structure and a consumable item along with an Unholy Spell Point. Cassius’s move set is filled with all kinds of attacks including elemental (Unholy), AOE, and ranged which are all important to counter so that you can inflict damage on him.

Where to Find General Cassius the Betrayer
General Cassius the Betrayer is a Level 57 V Blood Boss that is usually found roaming near the Waygate in the Ruins of Mortium. However, tracking his blood from the V Blood Screen to know his exact location is better.
Best Equipment & Spells to Use Against Cassius
As he is a Level 57 boss, your Gear Level should be 60 or above 60 to deal decent damage with your primary weapons. The Reaper and a Spear are the efficient weapons for this fight and for the spells, we would recommend you to use the following.
Veil of Chaos
Ball Lightning or Chaos Volley
Ward of the Damned
Merciless Charge
How to Defeat General Cassius the Betrayer
General Cassius the Betrayer is found roaming with up to four guards and before you engage with him in a fight, it is best to first take out the guards. You can take out the guards and leave the area to remove the aggression of Cassius and then re-engage with him to start the fight with no guards near him.
He has four basic attacks that he will do generally throughout the fight. The first attack is the Unholy Explosion that appears underneath the feet of your character. Simply, dodge to the side to get out of the radius of the explosion. His other attack is a dash attack where he will dash into you while pointing his sword at you. Again, dodge to the side to avoid getting hit by the sword.
He has another dash attack where he goes into a charging stance and teleports behind you to land a strike on you. You can avoid getting hit by the strike by dodging away as soon as he teleports. The last basic attack of Cassius is the sword strike that has a lot of range on it. He will mostly do this attack when he is walking towards you and when you get into enough vicinity of his attack, he will swing the sword.
Step back to avoid getting hit by the sword or you can use the Ward of the Damned to spawn a skeleton on countering the strike. For the first half of the fight, you can use the Ball Lightning or Chaos Volley to deal damage to him from a distance while mixing the spell attack with the Howling Reaper ability. Keep your distance to stay on the safe side and not get hit by any of his sword strikes and deal damage to him from a distance.
Almost halfway through the fight, Cassius will spawn a Nightfall Edge who will then spawn a few skeletons. At this point of the fight, you need to focus on taking down the Nightfall Edge as Cassius will be invincible until the Nightfall Edge falls. Take out the Nightfall Edge and then interact with its body to pick up its sword and throw it toward Cassius. It will stun Cassius for a few moments and give you enough time to deal extensive damage to him.
Lastly, Cassius will use its Unholy Ultimate ability to unleash Unholy Explosions three times around himself. Dodge his ultimate by stepping into the safe area. Now, rinse and repeat the strategy of keeping your distance and using your abilities to deplete all of his HP. Once done, feed on his blood to defeat him.
