The Soul Shards are one of the end-game items in V Rising that grant various buffs and a unique ultimate ability to the holder. Unlike the previous patches of the game, the soul shards now have durability and seem to be destroyed over time if not repaired on time. Moreover, players can track the location of every soul shard that other players have in the same server which can make them raid other players for the soul shard.
This guide will provide you with information on how the new Soul Shards system works in V Rising.
How the New Soul Shard System Works in V Rising
In the Early Access version of V Rising, the Soul Shards only provide players with various buffs for the next two hours which can plan their next raid or boss encounter depending on the type of Soul Shard they are equipping at the time. This now has been changed in the full release (v1.0) of V Rising due to the balanced changes.
Soul Shards now offer Buffs along with a unique Ultimate ability (replaces the equipped ultimate ability of a Spell School).
Soul Shards now have a durability of 2500 that is reduced over time and destroyed once it reaches 0.
All the Soul Shards can now be seen on the map in the PVP servers.
Once a Soul Shard is destroyed, it will return to its V Blood Carrier.
The most crucial change for Soul Shards is durability and for players to keep the Soul Shard active for longer is to repair it continuously. Repairing the Soul Shard will require players to feed on Primal Blood Souls during the Tier 2 Rift Incursions World Event in the Ruins of Mortium biome. Participate and defeat the blood soul bosses at the end of the Tier 2 Rift Incursion event to feed on their blood to gain 500 durability for the equipped Soul Shard.
Moreover, if players have more than one soul shard, they will have to store the other ones at the respective Shard Pedestals in the castle. However, storing the Soul Shards in the pedestals does not keep them from decaying so you will have to take them out every day to charge them.
If a Soul Shard is destroyed, you will have to eliminate the respective V Blood again to get the Soul Shard again. Furthermore, if you are equipping a Soul Shard, you won’t be able to transform into the Bat Form. You will have to either use a Wolf Form or mount on a Horse.
How to Get All Soul Shards in V Rising
There are four Soul Shards in V Rising 1.0 that players can get by defeating certain V Blood Bosses.
Soul Shard of the Behemoth – Dropped by Gorecrusher the Behemoth (Level 83).
Soul Shard of the Winged Horror – Dropped by Talzur The Winged Horror (Level 86).
Soul Shard of the Monster – Dropped by Adam the Firstborn (Level 88).
Soul Shard of the Dracula – Dropped by Dracula the Immortal King (Level 90).
Upon defeating a certain V Blood Boss, feed their blood to get the Soul Shard Amulet that you can equip to get the respective buffs and the ultimate.
