The Ashlands biome is home to various merciless and treacherous beings that players will encounter as they explore. Moreover, this new biome has several unique resources to its name that are essential for getting all the new weapons, armor, items, and structures. One of the new resources found in Ashlands is a Molten Core that is significantly used for crafting the new Stone Portal that allows players to transport all sorts of items even the metals.
This guide will provide you with information on how to get the Molten Core in Valheim.
How to Get the Molten Core in Valheim
There are two main locations in the Ashlands biome where players can find a few Molten Cores. One of the main locations is the Charred Fortress, a big fortress with a green beam coming out of it, and the other one is the Putrid Hole, a dungeon filled with Morgen enemy type.
Molten Cores in Putrid Hole
Out of both of these locations, the Putrid Hole is an easy one to undertake and it can hook you up with at least 2 Molten Cores on each run along with other resources like Coins, Charred Bones, Ashwood, and Carapace Arrows. However, you need to be aware of the Morgens inside the dungeon and clear them as you clear every room within the dungeon.
As you progress ahead in the dungeon, you may find a shining orange core on a stick, it is the Molten Core that you are looking for. Simply go near it and interact with it to pick it up. They can only be found in the open as they don’t appear as a drop from the regular Treasure Chests in the Putrid Hole.
Molten Cores in the Charred Fortress
The Charred Fortress is more difficult to invade as you will need a Battering Ram or a Catapult to break the front gate of the fortress. Not only that, but you have to deal with all sorts of Charred enemies along with Fallen Valkyrie. Once you have made your way inside the fortress, you will be able to find a couple of Molten Cores out inside the fortress on the ground.
Moreover, there will be another door in the center of the fortress that you should break open, again using the Battering Ram or Catapult to find more materials along with a Charred Chest. The Charred Chest has the potential to drop even a few more of Molten Cores.
