Animal Well: How to Defeat Ostrich Boss

Traversing through the illuminated labyrinth world of Animal Well will let players encounter several bosses in their respective quadrants that can be accessed from the Animal Hub area. There are four main bosses in Animal Well that players will have to defeat to get the Flames that are essential for ending the adventure.

One of the main bosses players will probably encounter in the end game is Ostrich. Although players get to encounter this boss early in its quadrant as well, it only requires getting past him by unlocking the door ahead. However, to get the last Flame, players will have to defeat Ostrich rather than just get past him.

This guide will walk you through how to defeat Ostrich Boss in Animal Well.

How to Defeat Ostrich Boss in Animal Well

The Ostrich Boss encounter takes place at the bottom of the map which players can reach by pursuing through the bottom right quadrant, an area specified for Ostrich. Upon reaching the very bottom of the map, players will notice some trapped cats and as they go left in the area, they will find Ostrich inside a wheel.

The Wheel will be locked and the only way you can defeat Ostrich is by unlatching the wheel so that the Ostrich can follow you all the way to the right side where you can drop him down by opening the hatches.

Unlatch the Wheel to Defeat Ostrich

To do so, you need to press the three yellow switches around the room. The first switch will be underneath the wheel, the second switch is on the left side of the wheel, and the last switch is on the top right side.

You can press the first switch straight away but for the second and third switch, you need to find a way to reach them. Follow the steps mentioned below to reach both the second and the third switch.

Step on one of the cages below the room to go to the left side.

Use the B. Wand to get on top of the cages in the next room and then use the Disc to get to the top right side.

Go to the next screen to press the second switch.

As you go back, the direction of the cages will change so use the B. Wand to get across the spikes and get on the cage to drop down.

Step on the cage below to go to the right and stay on the boxes until you reach a room with three fans and a green switch on the right side. Be careful of the small platforms along the way as you will have to jump over the platforms to stay on the cage.

Press the green switch to activate the fans and then go ahead through the narrow passage to get to the fans.

Jump on the fans from the right side to reach the last fan and then use the B. Wand to go up in the air.

Follow the narrow path ahead and make your way ahead by jumping on the cat cages to reach the third switch.

Drowning Ostrich to Defeat Him

As soon as you press the third switch, the wheel will be unlatched and the Ostrich will follow you. Quickly drop down and make your way to the right side until you reach the start of the area with hatches in the middle and a green switch on above the ledge. Press and stand on the green switch to open the hatches and wait for the Ostrich to fall through them and drown in the water.

Get the G. Flame

Upon defeating the Ostrich, the room on the right will unlock in which you will find the G. Flame. Use the Yoyo or Disc to break the glass to acquire the G. Flame. The G. Flame can be placed in the Ostrich Statue in the main Animal Hub area.
