Slink is one of the essential tools in Animal Well that has several uses to its name. It is used for applying pressure on the switches that will help you in the puzzles that require two switches pressed at the same time. Moreover, it can be placed to move down the steps as long as there are steps beneath it which will help you press a switch on delay, and it can be used to distract Otters.
Several puzzles in Animal Well will require you to use the Slink to progress ahead so it is recommended that players get it as soon as possible. This guide will walk you through how you can get the Slink in Animal Well.
How to Get the Slink in Animal Well
The Slink is located on the top-right quadrant of the map which is an area specified for Chameleon. It is one of the areas that players can access as soon as they reach the Animal Hub area. Moreover, the location of Slink is not far in the area so you will not require any kinds of tools even if you straight go for Chameleon’s quadrant.
However, there will be some early puzzles and the first encounter with Chameleon that you will have to face to reach the Slink location.
Path to the Slink Tool in Animal Well
Traverse to the right side of the Animal Hub area and head up the ladder to reach an area with hedgehog statues. Continue to the right to reach the next screen where you will see a locked door and a couple of switches. Ignore it for now as you won’t be able to unlock it now.
Keep going ahead toward the right side and go past the Chameleon statue room to reach a room with several platforms. Each platform will have a hedgehog on it that will be continuously traversing around the platform. From here, you need to start solving the puzzles to get to the Slink.
Unlock the Door in Hedgehogs’ Area
If you look up to the right, you will see a locked door for which you need to find a key to unlock it. To get the Key, jump onto the platforms and go all the way to the right. Keep in mind that hitting the hedgehog will give you the damage of one heart so time the jumps.
Once you are on the next screen, you will see a chest in the middle containing the key for the door. To get to the chest, jump to the top platform in the middle and go over to the dark area on the right side. Before you jump down, there will be a Chinchilla hiding in the dark area so throw a Firecracker in the dark area to stun the Chinchilla and then drop down to jump over the small platform below you.
Now, make the jump to the middle and loot the key from the chest. Go back to the previous room and make your way to the door. Interact with it to unlock the door using the key and then head up the ladder.
Unlock the Door in Hedgehogs and Chinchillas Area
As you reach the room above, you will see Hedgehogs crawling the place along with a couple of Chinchillas. The door you need to unlock here will be above you on the left side and it will require you to press the button on top of the room. However, reaching this button is only possible from above this room so, first, you need to head up to the room above by climbing the ladder on the top right side.
To reach the ladder, you need to bait the chinchillas toward you and then jump on their heads to go above. However, make sure that you stand on a higher step than Chinchilla so that they can’t hurt you. Upon making your way to the ladder and climbing up to the room above, you will see a blocked area in the middle requiring you to press two switches which can be seen on each top corner of the room.
For the first switch, head to the right to see a hedgehog traversing in a block containing three switches. These switches are for unlocking the door on top of the ladder in this room.
You need to use the switch on the ground to change the pattern inside the square to make the hedgehog walk on the switches.
Once done, head up the ladder and go through the unlocked door to press the first switch.
Now, head to the left side to enter another room where you will see a Chinchilla chilling on the top platform. The ladder in the room will lead to a locked door for which you have to get the key located inside the chest.
To get the key, you need to make the chest drop on the head of Chinchilla and then drop Chinchilla to the lower platform by stepping on the two green switches in the room.
First, go to the top left side of the platform to make the Chinchilla come to you. Drop down and press the Green Switch on the bottom to drop the chest on Chinchilla.
Now, go to the top right side of the platform to make the Chinchilla stand on the hatchet. Drop down and press the green button on the lower platform to fall the Chinchilla.
Jump on the head of the Chinchilla to loot the chest and get the key.
Go up the ladder to unlock the door using the key and then go ahead to press the second switch.
After pressing both of the switches, the area in the middle of the room will unlock allowing you to drop down to the room below where you will be able to press the button to unlock the door for the original room. Once you have unlocked the door, drop down to the lower platform and go through the opened door.
In the next room, you will encounter three ghost enemies. Throw a firecracker to eliminate all three ghosts and then continue ahead to the next room.
Get Past the Chameleon
Getting past the Chameleon will require you to open the door beneath the Chameleon for which you have to press three yellow switches in the room. Throughout this whole scenario, the Chameleon will attack you with its two main attacks, tongue, and projectiles. Both of them are pretty easy to dodge just be aware of the sound queues to comprehend the dodge while unlocking the door.
The first two switches can be found at each bottom corner of the room whereas, the last switch will be located at the top right corner. For the first switch, you need to jump on the chinchilla head to reach the switch. Don’t worry if the Chinchilla gets eaten by the Chameleon as it will be thrown out by the Chameleon after a few moments, until then just survive.
After pressing the two switches, use the Chinchilla head for the last time to jump on the ledge on the left side. From there, jump on the door’s lock and then onto the moving platform which will take you to the third switch. Once you have pressed all the switches and unlocked the door, jump back on the moving platform to get to the other side and go past the unlocked door.
Get the Slink Tool
After getting past the Chameleon, you will reach a green area. Head up the ladder to reach the room with a chest located on the top. Jump on the steps to reach the top and loot the chest to get the Slink.
