“With the crayon, anything is possible!” Sony Pictures has revealed the first official trailer for the Harold and the Purple Crayon movie, arriving in theaters in August later this summer. Harold and the Purple Crayon is the first film adaptation of the beloved children’s classic book series by Crockett Johnson that has captivated young readers for decades. “This summer, enter a world where anything you draw comes to life.” Inside of his book, adventurous Harold can make anything come to life simply by drawing it. After he grows up and draws himself off the book’s pages and into the physical world, Harold discovers that he has a lot to learn about real life. Directed by Carlos Saldanha and produced by John Davis, the live-action hybrid family adventure-comedy stars Zachary Levi as Harold, Lil Rel Howery, Benjamin Bottani, Jemaine Clement, Tanya Reynolds, with Alfred Molina and Zooey Deschanel. This reminds me of the other big hybrid animated movie IF (Imaginary Friends) also out this summer.
