Los Angeles. Private investigator. Missing person. Mystery person. Colin Farrell is John Sugar. Apple TV has revealed an official trailer for the series Sugar, described as “a genre-bending contemporary take on the private detective story set in Los Angeles.” It’s ready to premiere streaming on Apple TV+ at the start of April in a month from now. From screenwriter Mark Protosevich, Sugar is a contemporary, unique take on one of the most popular and significant genres in literary, motion picture and television history: the private detective story. Colin Farrell stars as John Sugar, an American private investigator on the heels of the mysterious disappearance of Olivia Siegel, the beloved granddaughter of the legendary Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel. The series also features Kirby, Amy Ryan, Dennis Boutsikaris, Nate Corddry, Alex Hernandez, and James Cromwell; with guest stars Anna Gunn and Sydney Chandler. This looks like it has a bit more going on than being another neo-noir, with some big ideas and twists and turns. “Tip the world on its side, and everything loose lands in Los Angeles.” Some really nice shots in here – check this out. // Continue Reading ›
