“Save the sanctimony, and hand over the million smackers.” Focus Features has unveiled the second trailer for the crime caper comedy Drive-Away Dolls, the second feature film directed solo by Ethan Coen after the Coen Brothers split to make their own work. It’s now set to open in theaters late in February. Margaret Qualley stars as Jamie, a young woman who regrets her recent breakup with her girlfriend, while her friend Marian, played by Geraldine Viswanathan, needs to relax. In search of a fresh start they both embark on an unexpected road trip to Tallahassee, but things quickly go awry when they cross paths with a group of inept criminals. The sizzling ensemble cast also has Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal, Colman Domingo, Bill Camp, Beanie Feldstein, Annie Gonzalez, and Joey Slotnick. The first trailer debuted last year, when this was originally set to open in September. It was delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, and is now rescheduled to launch in February. Will it fair better now? I doubt it… Looks like a damn good film though. // Continue Reading ›
