While traversing the Realm of Embervale, you will run into various chasms along the way that cannot be reached by climbing or jumping. For you to get across the chasm or distant ledges without any fear of falling, you will have to get and equip your character with a Grappling Hook.

How to Get Grappling Hook in Enshrouded
The Grappling Hook is obtained by crafting it at a Workbench using the required materials. Unlike other starting items and tools, players must first build and place the workbench within the vicinity of Flame Altar to craft a Grappling Hook.
The recipe for Grappling Hook is unlocked automatically after building the Workbench and the following resources are needed to craft it.
4x Metal Scraps
7x String
10x Shroud Spores
Metal Scraps can be found in abandoned settlements or within the Enshrouded areas. Look for the shelves and boxes around those areas to get the Metal Scraps. The string is obtained by crafting using Plant Fiber which is obtained from harvesting the plants and bushes. Lastly, Shroud Spores are gathered by slaying the demons within the Enshrouded areas. Each enemy has a chance of dropping one or two Shroud Spores.
Once you have gathered the required resources, go and interact with the workbench to find the Grappling Hook under the Survival section. Select the Grappling Hook and press the Spacebar to craft it. After that, open the Character menu and select the Grappling Hook Icon on the left side to equip the Grappling Hook on the character.
After equipping the Grappling Hook, you will be able to use the Grappling Hook by pressing the E Key when close to a distant ledge or a possible hooking platform. Using the Grappling Hook does consume a decent chunk of stamina so, make sure that your stamina is recharged before using it.
