Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown – How to Defeat Alternate Sargon (1st Encounter)

Alternate Sargon is among the many Unique Enemies/Mini-Bosses in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown that players will encounter throughout the main questline playthrough. Players will encounter Alternate Sargon two times in the journey, rewarding players with an Athra Surge upon defeat. The first time when players get to encounter Alternate Sargon is in The Depths biome while chasing after Old Man.

How to Defeat Alternate Sargon in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

As the name suggests, the boss is the same as the protagonist and has the same move set with the Dual Blades. He uses the basic light attack combo along with heavy attack strikes from time to time. The light attacks and the combo can be parried at the perfect time but the heavy attacks and the Athra Surge ability of Alternate Sargon must be dodged to prevent from hitting.

On the other hand, Alternate Sargon can also parry your attacks as well as dodge them. To tackle Alternate Sargon, you need to first dodge or parry his starting attacks as he will go aggressive at the start of the fight. Dodging these attacks is the perfect play as parrying each of the combo attacks can easily be missed. However, if you are good with parrying attacks, then you should parry his combo attack as it will charge your Athra gauge more quickly. Once he has landed the combo, you can hit him with the charged attack followed by the light attack combo.

If you keep your distance from him, he will shoot arrows at you from time to time that can also be parried at the perfect time. Try to get behind Alternate Sargon while he is attacking a combo, it will give you an advantage in dealing damage to him from behind. Keep your eyes on Athra Gauge and use the Athra Surge whenever the meter fills up. Hitting Alternate Sargon with Athra Surge will deal extensive damage to him.

However, you also need to be aware of Alternate Sargon’s Athra Surge. Press the dodge button as soon as you see Alternate Sargon using the Athra Surge to immediately dodge the attack and then advance on him with a heavy attack. You have to be patient in the fight to not get caught off-guard by any attack of Alternate Sargon as he deals high damage with every attack.
