Now, let’s move on to the guide!

Relics – What Are They?

So, one of the features of character building is the relic system. Think of them as the artifacts from Genshin Impact – sort of. Each relic boosts a character’s stats, whether it be for HP, Attack, and more.

Let’s take a closer look at the types of Relics in the game!

Head – HP
Body – Crit Rate, HP, Attack, DEF, Healing Boost, Effect Hit Rate, Crit Damage
Hands – Attack
Feet – Attack, DEF, HP, Speed, Break Effect
Link Rope – DEF, HP, Attack, Break Effect, Energy Regen Rate
Planar Sphere – Elemental Damage Boost, DEF, HP, Attack

Similarly to artifacts in Genshin Impact, a Relic has a main stat, as well as a possible maximum of 4 sub-stats.

You can level your Relics up to increase their main stat and sub-stats, but please note that the overall stats of a Relic are randomly generated when obtained. There are also different rarities of Relics!

2-Star – Green with a max level of 6
3-Star – Blue with a max level of 9
4-Star – Purple with a max level of 12
5-Star – Gold with a max level of 15

Light Cones

By far one of the biggest things to get used to when building characters, is the fact that there are no weapons. Well, at least not in the same vein as Genshin Impact. Instead of a weapon banner, there is a Light Cone banner.

Light Cones are basically a piece of equipment that helps to boost a character. Each Light Cone is linked to a specific Path to provide the user with a passive skill, so not all of them can be used on certain characters. They can be levelled from 1 to 80, and have a variety of rarities from 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star.

Character Elements

It wouldn’t be a HoYoverse game without elemental combat! There are 7 elements in the game at the moment.

Fire
Ice
Physcial
Lightning
Quantum
Imaginary
Wind

When it comes to building a team, you need to keep a character’s element in mind. Especially when taking them into certain battles, or boss fights. It’s best to utilise elements that correspond to the enemy’s weaknesses – this breaks the Toughness of an enemy!

Character Paths

Paths are similar to classes in a typical RPG. A Path describes that character’s combat style and will allow them to obtain certain passive abilities while using a Light Cone. There are 7 Paths in the game at this current time, but we know of 14 – we assume these will be added in future updates.

Destruction – DPS
Abundance – Healer
Hunt – Single Target DPS
Harmony – Offensive Support
Nihility – Debuffer
Preservation – Defensive Support
Erudition – Multi-Target DPS
