Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Sands in the Hourglass Quest Walkthrough

The Sands in the Hourglass is one of the main Expansion Quests for Jafar in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Players will get to unlock this quest once they have completed The Flying Metal Nuisance quest for Jafar. Talking to Jafar on the Hologram Station in the courtyard will reveal that the Hourglass is missing three Jewels of Time. Luckily, Jafar knows where to find the first one.

In this guide, we’ll be covering The Sands in the Hourglass Quest for Jafar in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

The Sands in the Hourglass Quest Walkthrough

The Sands in the Hourglass quest starts automatically after completing The Flying Metal Nuisance and Jafar will allocate players to go to the Secluded Beach where the Statue holding the Jewel of Time is standing. It is located right side of the broken bridge but the path is blocked off by Swirling Sands. Players need to use the Hourglass to remove the Swirling Sands to get to the Secluded Beach. Once there, players need to interact with the Hologram Station in the area to talk to Jafar and he will tell you to find the Ancient Statue Fragments.

Finding Ancient Statue Fragments

You need to find 2x Ancient Statue Fragments in the Secluded Beach area. Press the Spacebar Key to reveal a circular pattern on top of your character’s head and look for the direction that it is pointing it. The thickness of the circular pattern portrays the direction in which you want to go to find the Ancient Statue Fragments. If the circular pattern is blue, it means you are far and if it is yellow or orange, it means you are close. Keep pressing the Spacebar key as you go closer to eventually open a small rift. Now, mash the E button repeatedly to pull out the fragment from the rift.

Repeat the same process until you find the second Ancient Statue Fragment.

Finding Ancient Plates

Once you have found both fragments on Secluded Beach, make your way back to the Courtyard area (Ancient’s Landing) and search for Ancient Plates using the Hourglass. You need to repeat the process of finding the rift and pulling out the materials from it to get all 3 Ancient Plates.

Once you have obtained all materials from the Ancient’s Landing, return to Jafar at the Secluded Beach and talk to him.

Craft the Statue’s Arm

After talking to Jafar, he will hand you the Detailed Statue-Repair Instructions. Investigate it from your inventory and then interact with the Timebending Table beside the Hologram Station in the Secluded Beach. Select the Quests category to view the Statue’s Arm recipe and then craft it using the fragments and materials that you found.

Place the Statue’s Arm in the Socket

Now, go to the Statue and interact with it to place the Statue’s Arm in the socket to complete the statue and obtain the first Jewel of Time for the Hourglass.

Repair the Broken Bridge

After getting the first Jewel of Time, go back to the broken bridge in the courtyard area. It will require 2,000 Mist to fix the bridge. You need to gather the Mist by completing the Mist Duties and Eternity Isle Duties found in the Quests tab of the menu as well as by removing the Swirling Sands around the Ancient’s Landing.

Once you have gained 2,000 Mist, interact with the broken bridge to reverse the time and fix the bridge to conclude the quest.
