Hunting is one of the essential activities of the open-world experience in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora as it provides you with useful materials and Meat that can be consumed raw or cooked with other food items to gain 100% Energy replenishment along with bonus effects. It is recommended that players hunt the wildlife during the exploration of the Western Frontier to yield useful materials that will help them craft better gear items and weapons.
In this guide, we’ll tell you how you can hunt wildlife efficiently and get fish meat in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
How to Hunt the Wildlife in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
There are various species out in the world of Pandora that players will run into frequently as they explore the world. Each species drops a certain kind of materials and Meat when players hunt them using the Na’vi weapons. The reason why players need to use the Na’vi weapons to hunt the animals instead of RDA weapons is to keep the quality of the materials and Meat. If players use RDA weapons to hunt a creature, it will spoil the yield and possibly no yield at all. Using the Na’vi weapons keeps the quality of yield high which can grant certain bonus effects.
However, players still have to use the Na’vi weapons to get a clean kill to keep the quality of the yield. For instance, if players kill a creature in 1-hit using a bow, it will have a quality drop. On the other hand, if players kill a creature in 5 – 10 hits, it will have a low-quality drop or no drop at all. To get a clean kill, players need to utilize their Na’vi senses to find a weak spot on the creature. Press and hold the Q button to highlight the weak spot of a creature and then shoot the arrow on the weak spot to get a clean kill.
Not all creatures die in one hit even if you hit them in their weak spot but it does remain the quality of their drop. For instance, if you hit them other than the weak spot, it will spoil the yield so, you have to be patient in getting a clean shot every time you want to hunt wildlife.
How to Fish in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Fishing in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is not like other RPGs where you will get to use a fishing rod to catch the fish instead, you will use the same weapons as you do for hunting the wildlife. Fish can be found in the riverside areas and you can use the Na’vi senses to spot the fish in the water. Use the Bow or the Spear Thrower weapons to strike fish from a distance and then go in the water to gather the Meat from them.
