Just picked up the latest Torchlight and can’t quite figure out how Torchlight Infinite multiplayer works? Well, worry no longer, for that’s exactly what this guide is designed to help with. Here, we’re going to break down the multiplayer features so you can make the most of playing with friends. We’ll also keep it updated as new features are added to the game. Given that it’s only in open beta right now, you can expect new multiplayer modes to drop over time.
This latest entry in the action RPG series brings Torchlight to mobile for the first time ever, and in a free-to-play format. It features five playable characters, most of which are entirely new to the series, alongside all of the monster slaying you dreamed of. If you love watching monsters burst into colourful gore, collecting showers of loot, XP, and gold in the process, you’ll love this.
In the meantime, we recommend checking out the official site to learn more about the game. Following that, make sure to grab some Torchlight Infinite codes, check out our Torchlight Infinite classes guide to learn more about them, our Torchlight Infinite tier list to learn who’s best, then our Torchlight Infinite builds guide to help you progress once you’ve picked. Torchlight Infinite Multiplayer
To answer this question in as simple a manner as possible, yes: Torchlight Infinite features multiplayer. Here are the various ways you can play with friends.
Cross-Play
Torchlight Infinite is available on PC and mobile at launch, providing a completely cross-platform experience. That means you can participate in all multiplayer shenanigans no matter which platform you choose: iOS, Android, or PC.
It also means you can start the game on one platform, and swap over to another using the same account at any time.
Market
Found a really decent item but can’t make use of it? You can chuck it up on the market. This is a persistent, player-run marketplace that lets you trade items between all players in the game, and works across mobile and PC.
Co-Op
Here’s where things take a bit of a downward turn: you can’t play with your friends at launch. Developer XD Entertainment has confirmed that this feature is coming, but won’t arrive as part of season one.
So, in effect, that means that Torchlight Infinite is a single player game at launch. It features a story mode that takes about ten hours to beat, as well as endlessly replayable dungeons.
However, it might be worth playing through the game on your lonesome as you prepare for multiplayer to eventually arrive down the line.
Stay Tuned
We plan on keeping a close eye on the multiplayer situation, and will update this article as soon as we learn more. So, bookmark this page and keep an eye out for updates.
