In The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, every tool, weapon, and armor possesses durability that gradually decreases with use and damage. When these gear items break, you would typically need to craft them again, consuming the full materials. Gathering these materials, especially ores, can require an extra effort just to restore your gear items. Fortunately, there is an alternative way to restore the durability of your weakened gear items: repairing them.
Here, we will cover everything you need to know about how to repair your gear items in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria.
How to Repair Your Gear Items in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria
All gear items can be repaired at the Repair Smithy station in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria. Each gear item will cost a certain amount of Metal Fragments to be fully repaired. Metal Fragments are easy to gather as they are scattered throughout Moria and can be obtained by breaking wooden furniture during your journey. To repair any gear item, follow these simple steps:
Interact with the Repair Smithy.
Select the gear item from the inventory menu on the left side.
Choose the repair option to restore the selected gear item.
The method is straightforward, but the initial requirement is to unlock the Repair Smithy. You must obtain Iron Ores from the Iron Veins in Moria and use the Furnace to transform these iron ores into Iron Ingots. Once you have the Iron Ingot, you will unlock the recipe for the Repair Smithy, which you can then build from the Crafting & Essentials section in the Building Menu.

Building the Repair Smithy costs 5x Iron Ingots, so ensure to construct it as quickly as possible. This will allow you to repair all your gear items whenever needed, saving you the hassle of recreating them.
