Amanita Design’s legendary Machinarium ($1.99) has gotten its first update since 2019 today adding in gamepad controller support, Apple Metal Rendering, Core Audio, and more in its iOS version. If you’ve not played Machinarium yet, it is an amazing point and click puzzler with a timeless soundtrack and gorgeous visuals. It is a game I try and buy with every single release, but my favorite version remains the iPad version (well the iOS version played on iPad). Today’s update is the first major update the game has gotten since adding full screen support for the iPhone XS series screen back in 2019. To give you an idea of how old Machinarium is, look at the timestamp of the video below:
I’m glad to see Machinarium still supported today. We recently had Amanita Design celebrating its 20th anniversary. Machinarium is currently available as a universal app on iOS, iPadOS, and tVOS. Today’s new update is a welcome one, and I hope to see classics like Machinarium from Amanita Design supported for years to come across modern Apple hardware.
